Oldsmobile Other 1967 Description

Vehicle needs lots of work but does present an excellent project or opportunity for theright person.

I bought it a while back but “family plans” have changed and now include a 4 door not a classic convertible.

MAJOR POSITIVES:

1) Vehicle does turn over and RUN

2) Transmission does engage andvehicle will move forward and in reverse on its own power (It was loaded onto a trailer in order for me to take delivery so should be no problem to get it to you the same way)

3) All original body panels and chrome (best of my knowledge)

4) Original 425 motor (best of my knowledge).

5) Body is straight. The doors open and close and are still perfectly aligned (I took pictures to show this particular point - so that is the reason for the closeups of the doors).

5) The convertible top is shot but the METAL FRAME is still in perfect alignment, oes not have any threatening rust that I have found and it will close and latch no problem. Thehydraulic motor and rear glass are in the trunk along with original Olds hubcaps. All other glass is present and not cracked.

6) Frame is obviously from 1967 but I have not seen any levels of rust that would indicate it is in need of serious repair or unusable. Sand blast and seal and you should be in business.

7) It's a CLASSIC.

Negatives:

1) Rust patches on exterior rear quarter panels. They will need patching. Approx 2" x 2" on both sides.

2) No pressure in brakes so not sure of full condition of steering/suspension or how vehicle handles at any speed above 3~ mph.

3) Some dents in the chrome bumpers

My research indicates that only 2,500 425 cubic inch convertibles were made in 1967. Air filter has 455 on the housing but I ran the block casting numbers after speaking with the guy I bought it from and we were both in agreeance it is the original 425. He told me he bought it from a friend after his father passed away, ho had it sitting tarped in a farm field in Oregon along with a dozen other convertibles for about 25 years.

Feel free to message me if you have any other questions. If you are the winning bidder, can also assist you with parts research I have already done to help you hit the ground running with it, f you would like.
