Plymouth Barracuda 1971 Description
1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible tribute. This car was originally a 1971 318 Barracuda convertible. A complete 3 year “rotisserie” restoration was recently completed. About 225 test miles have put on the car since completion. The car starts, runs and drives great and does not overheat even in the 100 degrees + AZ heat. As you can see in the pics the car underwent a complete “rotisserie” restoration done by a very experienced (25+ years) Mopar only restorer. Over $50,000 of parts were used during the extensive restoration including new Mopar Performance 426 Engine, completely rebuilt 18 spline Hemi 4-speed and completely rebuilt original 3:54 Dana rear end. If you are looking for a Hemi Cuda Convertible that you can get in and enjoy this summer, this is a great car for you. I have sold several cars on eBay over the past 15 years and have always received positive feedback. I am not a dealer, just a hobbyist and it is important to me that the buyer is satisfied with the car. You can be assured I have described the car to the best of my knowledge and will honestly answer any questions you have.
I have a clear AZ title. The car is being sold “as is” with no warranty. I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Body/ Paint/Trim
All the correct and original body numbers are in place. The base coat/clear coat EV2 paint is very nice. All the body lines and panels are very straight. The gaps are all uniform. The bumpers are reproduction elastomeric. The stainless steel trim was polished. The door handles are new. All the rubber seals, gaskets, window felts, emblems etc were replaced during the restoration as well as the convertible top, boot and well liner. The windshield and rear glass are new. The tinted side glass is original and in good condition with the exception of the driver’s side door glass which is reproduction. There are a couple of minor paint flaws. I have included close up pics of the flaws. There are also a couple of minor paint chips in the painted grille.
Mechanical
This car runs and drives excellent. It goes down the road straight and stops straight as expected. You can feel confident that you can get in this car and drive it anywhere. A new 426 Mopar Performace Hemi with new hemi manifolds was installed on a correct Hemi K-frame. The car starts and the engine runs perfectly with two new Edelbrock 650 Thunder Series carbs. All the Shaker parts are new reproduction from Ben Snobar at Shakerhood.com. The fuel tank, fuel lines and fuel pump are also new. The completely rebuilt 18 spline Hemi 4-speed transmission shifts smoothly and works perfectly. The clutch, Centerforce pressure plate, flywheel, bellhousing, shifter, shifter rods etc. are all new. The completely rebuilt Dana 60 rear end has 3:54 gears which is a good ratio for this car 4-speed and 18” custom wheels. The car has completely rebuilt heavy front and rear brakes. The original style exhaust is completely new including the tips. The car sounds great. The front end is completely rebuilt. The wheels are new 18x9 rear and 17x7 front Foose Legend with 235 45 front and 295 45 rear Nitto tires. The B-body Dana with a spring offset kit allows the larger rear wheels and tires to fit with no clearance issues. Everything under the hood is new including, water pump, alternator, starter, hoses, wiring harnesses, belts, plugs, plug wires, battery washer bottle, squirters etc. The rallye instruments have been rebuilt and refaced. Everything on the car works; horn, lights, wipers, heater, radio, gauges, fog lamps, including the tach and clock (upgraded to quartz movement) etc. The trip meter is intermittent. The car also runs nice and cool even in the 100 + AZ heat (new 26” max cooling radiator).
Interior
The interior has new leather front seat covers, seat foam, door panels, dash pad, kick panels, seat backs, tuff wheel, carpet and original style floor mats. The instrument panel was completely restored and everything works with the exception of an intermittent trip meter.
