Plymouth Fury 1972 Description

Complete Original 1972 Plymouth Fury I - Special Order Police Vehicle

The Project That Never Got Done!

After the unsuccessful initial listing I am re-listing (pictures changed) with my sites set much lower NO RESERVE and lower deposit upon sale...

Original (87380.8 miles) Complete 1972 Plymouth Fury I Police Car with 440 EngineHolley 4 Barrel Carburetor Limited Slip Differential Electronic Ignition with Heavy Duty Torqueflite Transmission Suspension Front Disc & Rear Drum Brakes &Alternator. The Spot Lights on right & left Rear Window Defrost Power Trunk Release A/C Cutout Fast Idle Control& Certified Speedometer wereall Factory InstalledOptions.

I havemy original 1973 Certificate of Title for this vehicle that is still active for transfer to a new owner so I can assure you I know where this vehicle has been since the "Village of Plymouth Minnesota Police Department" Special Ordered it usedit for approximately 60000 of the miles& subsequently sold it through a consignment dealer to me.Itwas last licensed in 1977.

This car has not been messed with or altered and nothing mechanically has been done or touched since the seventies with the noted exceptions. It has been stored in and mostly outdoors for several of it's years. The brake pads were removed several years ago when stuck at a time the vehicle was moved. I recently removed the fan shroud &fan under the hood and loosened the alternator a/c & power steering to release the belts in an effort to turn the engine with a breaker bar. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful. The car has not been touched for all these years with the exception of lubricating hinges & cursory cleaning however every bolt I loosened did so without much resistance which is encouraging for any restoration efforts.

In the pictures you can see many of the parts I have collected. The trunk mat is original. The fenders are aftermarket remakes (not what I thought I was buying at the time). All of the spare green interior parts were out of a previously owned 1971 Plymouth Fury III as well as (4) of the (8) spare door windows the trailer hitch (that was never on the 72) & some of the other miscellaneous parts. Almost all of the other parts were removed from a 1970 Plymouth Fury I Highway Patrol car with 440 engine that I bought for parts a long time ago. Gas tank dual Midas mufflers & correct tail pipes brakes radiator intake & exhaust manifolds valve coversdual intake air cleanercarburetor wiper motor rear defroster certified speedometer power steering & water pump pneumatic trunk release wiring harnesses & miscellaneous. There are (2) spigots valves hoses & hose holders that were mounted under the hood & connected to the carburetor for police cars to provide emergency fuel to motorists. I have a new old stock right side view mirror & ignition switch.

Some parts are in the trunk (windows) but many are in boxes or loose (tailpipes) so Buyer must make arrangements to transport.I will also include a 1972 Plymouth Fury sales brochure & (2) books that cover Dodge Plymouth & Chrysler Police Cars from 1956-1994 with another book about Cars of the State Police & Highway Patrol.
