One of the most popular genres of collecting in recent years has been the retro hot rod. Some are mild and some like it hot! The retro rod in this eBay auction the 1972 Plymouth Duster has been said to be legal on the track and legal on the street. The car has never been abused for racing but easily could be a top race car so far as the way it is set up. If you love your cars loaded with testosterone and as fast as they are mean looking then this might be just the car for you. The following is a full description for this of this car as it has been fully done over.

1972 PLYMOUTH DUSTER

There are street rods and then there are STREET RODS!! The 1972 Plymouth Duster in this ad started its life off with a six-cylinder engine but less then four years ago it was converted over to a MOPAR 440 engine with Ross pistons race cam and “Eagle” studded rods.

Exterior color: New Lava Orange with Gold Pearl.

The car originally came as a six cylinder but now has a Mopar 440 from a 1969 Roadrunner with all new race components. Note the car is STREET LEGAL! It was built for racing but is not raced and has not been abused.

Engine contains “Ross” pistons racing cam and studded Eagle rods.

Iron heads topped off with 950 Demon carburetor 10:1 compression custom Hooker headers into 3-inch pipes and mufflers ending at rear axle.

Transmission: 727 3-speed automatic with 3400 stall converter. B&M auto-ratchet shifter.

The car has put on less then 500 miles since the conversion.

Suspension: New Moser axles with QA1 adjustable rear shocks. New leaf springs.

Brakes: New front discs rear drums

3.91 Dana rear end 8 3/4 inch

Tires: fronts are two new Classics 165/80/15; rears are two new Mickey Thompson street slicks 275/60/15

Rims: 4 New American Racing with locks

The fuel cell and battery are in the trunk. The trunk has been treated primered and carpeted. There is no spare no jack. Solid glass. Again the car is set up for STREET or track. It was built for racing but is not raced and has not been abused.

For speed performance there is no power steering no power brakes no air conditioning and no heater. Mileage is unknown ​as the speedometer was also disconnected. However the seller tells us that since the car was redone there is less then 500 miles on the car.

The car has a full interior in good shape and some small very minor tears in the seats.

Seller wants to disclose there are maybe three small minor nicks here and there. However they are very minor.

If you want the meanest looking fastest running toughest car on the block we don’t think you could find one that would better fit the bill! The owner has placed a very reasonable reserve on the car so that you can feel free to bid to win.
