With that being said, nce again up for your consideration is this very solid 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe. This Belvedere was manufactured in Los Angeles, alifornia. It was originally ordered in sunflower yellow with a white top. The car is still equipped with the original 318 V8 engine and 3 speed push-button automatic transmission. This Plymouth was purchased used at some point by a retired Deputy Sheriff who bought the car in California and later moved to Michigan approximately 30 years ago. The 80’s era blue CA license plate and original dealer frame are included with the car.

This Belvedere is equipped with the following factory options: full Solex tinted glass all the way around, cylinder engine, orqueflite 3-speed transmission, port-tone side trim, ower steering, ocking glovebox, ual post mirrors and day / night mirror. The clock was removed from the cluster because it wasn’t working.

Modern modifications include: American Racing 15’’ wheels, isc front brake conversion with tandem master cylinder, lectronic ignition, lternator, ustom aluminum radiator, barrel carb, nd AM/FM/CD Player. Although I have no way of confirming it, believe the odometer reading of 38k miles is correct due to the overall condition of the car – there is no wear on the brake pedal!

The exterior of the Plymouth is in great overall condition, he common rust areas above the headlights are solid and show no evidence of repair. The floors and frame are very solid and in good condition unlike many other 57-58 Plymouths. The windshield has been replaced. All the windows open and close easily. There is some surface rust appearing near the rear wheel wells due to flaking paint. The paint is driver quality at best, t appears that the car was re-sprayed from the upper molding line up at some point as it is glossier than the lower areas (maybe original.) The bumpers are also driver quality and there is some crazing. The rear bumper is dinged and the plating is beginning to flake off near the bottom. The stainless is in great shape, here is some pitting on the mirrors and fender spears. The original Plymouth hood ornament / trunk letters / Belvedere emblems were removed and the holes were filled but are included with the sale.

The interior was reupholstered in a non-factory design but presents very well. The headliner and package tray were also re-covered in the same material. The deluxe steering wheel is like new with no cracking or pitting in the horn ring. The carpet has been replaced with modern cut-pile type carpeting.

The car is in great shape mechanically. The engine runs great with no strange noises or smoke and the transmission shifts through the gears just as it should. The car tracks and stops straight. The rubber suspension bushings appear to be worn with age and there some noise on turns. The tires are new. The horn, eadlights, urn signals, rake lights, indshield wipers, nd fan all work.

I have been an avid 57-58 Plymouth fan for years and have owned several of them. Forward look era car enthusiasts know that these cars are rust prone, ut this particular car is the most solid that I have ever owned and you would be very hard pressed to find one in similar condition. I am very confident that an independent inspector would confirm this.

Sliding in behind the wheel is truly like stepping back in time. She fires right up after a couple taps of the gas, ress the D and take off with the 50’s tunes blaring! This Plymouth makes a great weekend cruiser or the perfect foundation for a full restoration / Christine clone candidate. These cars rarely come up for sale in comparable condition, ither they are total basket cases that need everything and haven’t been on the road in years or they are show-quality trailer queens that bring 50-60k at auction. This Plymouth can be enjoyed now!

The original 14’’ steel wheels, ubcaps, adiator, mblems, adio, istributer, oltage regulator and generator are all included with the car.
