Plymouth Road Runner 1975 Description

Here is a very rare MOPAR muscle car. 1975 Roadrunner big block car. 1975 was the last year a Roadrunner had its own vin and also the last year to have a big block available. It is the last TRUE Roadrunner, this one is the last TRUE Roadrunner. I say "this one" because just like the original Roadrunners minimum engine was a 383 this particular car came with a 400 unlike the other 95% that were 318 2v, 360 2v, and 360 4Vs. 280 Roadrunners were ordered with the 400 and this is one of those special cars. In the late 80s a book was published How Many Are Left? about classic cars and even then there was only an estimated 8% to 10% survival rate of classic cars. So let's go with a 10% survival rate on this one, that would leave about 28 big block 1975 Roadrunners left on the planet. If you are a collector you have to know this car deserves a top notch resto and belongs in a real Mopar collection. That all being said this is all original still and in its orginal paint even. Drivers fender looks to have been repainted as it faded differently to me. It is optioned with a posi and yes I checked it, A/C, remote mirror controls both passenger and driver, buckets, auto on the floor, full guages including tach, rally wheels, cat detete, handling package, trunk stripe and probably other things I have missed. A local wrecking yard bought this car at an auction and put it for sale whole in their running cars section. I kept checking it out considering to buy it and even started it but thought too long I guess because one day a buddy called me and told me "they just put the car out in the yard to be parted out". I went and bought it the next day and took it back out to save it as I LOVE CLASSIC MUSCLE CARS and knew it was rare. As a result of it having been transfered to the yard it could no longer be sold with original title so I had to "acquisition" it and start it all over again in the CA. system starting from "junk" so now the title says SALVAGE on it and is in my name. I will restore this car if does not bring a good price but I have enough projects to stay busy for years already so I am looking for the collector or serious hobbiest that will return it to its former glory. This car has NO RUST issues. A couple spots where chips have turned to surface rust is all. It does run but fuel tank was removed by yard as they do with all the cars before they go in for picking. If to be shipped I can probably dummy up a a gallon underneath to be started and moved onto a transporter. If somewhat local, I have a tow truck and can deliver if negotiated. It shares a fuel tank with Fury's and Cordoba's but I have not searched locally for one yet. Original air cleaner was taken already as were the front buckets before I got to it. I will include an air cleaner I have on a 440 from a motorhome. I found a 78-79 Volare SE with tan buckets, bought them, and put them in the Roadrunner. Drivers seat fell right into place into existing holes in floor but passenger seat did not so it needs atleast one lower runner from correct years. Original rally wheels are 14" and in the trunk now. I put a 15"x7" set of Police rims on it after I had them bead blasted and painted and new tires put on. 245/60/15 in front, and 255/70/15 rear. Owner could not find keys so I removed door lock from Drivers side and had a key made and luckily it worked in column. Upon removing the little arms from the lock cylinder I broke the little plastic clip that keeps the tiny arm tied to the handle so that is why door panel is still off drivers side. Those little plastic clips can be bought from many restoration companies. There is no trunk lock but trunk does latch and requires a screwdriver to open. Headlights inside car and buckets in trunk. Passenger side front wheel is missing the two long screws that hold caliper in place, I may get to finding and buying some next week but sometimes I can very busy and time flys by so no promises on that. Seats need reupholstery, top of rear seat is sun beat and completely cracked and torn. Center console is missing lid. Windshield has rock chip and needs replace. Radio is gone.
