This is a wonderful example of the 1936 Plymouth P2 Deluxe four door Touring Sedan Hot Rod. With its dark candy red and silver paint and Eagle 15 alloy wheels, this 36 doesn't share much with its original counterparts. Under the hood is an impressive 350ci small block Chevy motor that is covered in chrome and performance parts. Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, Accel coil and super stock 8mm plug wires, cast intake and a Holley single barrel carburetor, to name only a few. The alternator, distributor cap, oil pan, and transmission pan, all gleam with chrome. Exhaust is handled by a set of ceramic coated shorty headers coming out the rear to dual chrome tail pipe tips. The 5.7L V8 motor is paired to a smooth shifting Turbo 350 Transmission and a 8 rear-end. Rolling on a nice set of BF Goodrich Excentia GT Radials, P215/65R in the front and P235/70R15s in the rear. The addition of front disc brakes makes nice improvement over the original 1936 breaking system. The radiator is stock and is aided by an electric fan. The shaved door handles, electric hide-away front license plated bracket, Full length running boards, and suicide doors, give this deluxe 4 door sedan and awesome look. The chrome front bumper and grill look fantastic and are accented by a set of custom turn signal lights. The full custom interior makes this sedan a total stand out. Automatic door and trunk poppers, power windows add a great touch. Power windows and a nice under dash AC unit with aluminum AC compressor make the interior comfortable. Custom cloth covered seats and matching door panels blend nicely with the Old style brush brass gauges and dark wood grain and billet plated dash. The Billet mirrors and billet tilting steering wheel, along with the awesome long arm floor shifter add some final touches that make this car shine. The sales brochure for the 1936 PJ series stated "this . . . Plymouth is the peak of perfection. Never before has there been offered a car so fine in detail, so positively right in all its engineering. It is distinctive in styling. New beauty is apparent in every angle -- new radiator grille, ornament, headlamps and hood louvers -- new heavier fenders and more massive body -- all expressing greater value!" The 1935-36 models were a solid success that deserve credit for advancing the state of the art in "common man" cars. With the added touches to this car, it is far from being a car for the common man. 350ci Small Block Chevrolet V8 Aftermarket lights for turn signals Air Conditioning Aluminum AC compressor Automatic door poppers Automatic trunk popper BF Goodrich Excentia GT radials Billet mirrors Billet steering wheel Black paint graphic on the 2 color line Cast intake w/ Holley single barrel carb Chrome distributor cap Chrome front bumpers Chrome oil pan Chrome transmission pan Cloth wrapped door panels Crank rear windows Custom cloth seats Dark Candy Red w/ Silver top paint Dark wood grain dash w/ billet plates Dual tail pipes tips Eagle 15" alloy wheels Edelbrock chrome valve covers Electric hide-away licence plate bracket Front Disc/Rear Drum Brakes Front: P215/65R15 Full custom interior Full length running boards Long arm floor auto shifter w/ hand E-brake Old style brushed brass gauges Rear step in trailer hitch for back bumper Rear: P235/70R15 Shaved door handles Shorty ceramic coated headers Stock radiator with electric fan Suicide rear doors Tinted Glass Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission Under dash AC unit and vents |
