Plymouth Other 1973 Description
Car was purchased new in Bradenton, FL and put into service 7 Aug 1973. It lived in FL until sometime in the 1990’s. I purchased it on Ebay in Sep 2005 when it had 48,856 original miles. It was a father son project that included removing engine and transmission for cleaning and paint, painting the entire car including inside the trunk and the engine compartment. We installed a new dual exhaust, ball joints, tie rod ends, U-joints, shocks, rear leaf springs, radiator, brakes and countless other items. Also added a rear sway bar kit, rally wheels and a tuff steering wheel. The hood scoops say it has a 340 engine but it never did, it still has the original slant six engine. We anticipated dropping in a V8 one day but never did. This is as clean a car as I have seen from the 70’s. I repaired a dime size rust hole on the driver’s side quarter panel; by welding in a new piece of metal, that’s it. It looks to me like this car never has seen snow. I am certain that it did not since 2005 of course. You would be hard pressed to find a car this solid anywhere. It is beautiful and it has a class A paint job. Simply gorgeous. We did replace the speedometer when the needle kept bouncing erratically. The replacement unit had 24,000 higher mileage than the original but this is well documented with photos of both units. Current actual, original mileage is 69,000. Many ownership documents from its original purchase till now come with the car including the Ebay ad with photos from when I bought it in 2005. It’s a fun, good running, good sounding, dependable, head turning car. I am selling it because my son is grown now and living in Chicago with no garage and my wife and I are downsizing for an anticipated move in the next couple of years to a warmer climate. I hate to let her go but it is time. Bid with confidence. You will not be disappointed. If you win the auction and show up with the money to pay for the car and upon inspection you do not want it for any reason, you are free to walk away. No problem.
