Plymouth Fury 1966 Description
1966 Plymouth Fury III. I bought this car as a project. We installed a Pertronix kit in the distributor, a new coil, changed the oil, cleaned out the carb and set the timing and put some fresh gas to it and after sitting for 11+ years it fired up!!! Unfortunately we found out why it was parked as it has a rod knock. The car still runs and drives as I took it around the block, but is not listed as a "driver" and is only kept as a runner to move around the property and load/unload from the trailer. It has a 318, automatic transmission, and 8 3/4 rearend and we believe the car is mostly original. As far as i can tell almost everything is there it just needs to be refurbished! Which we all know is very nice with classic cars because hunting down needed parts can be a struggle.I HIGHLY recommend sending your own body guy to inspect the car. I have some pictures posted and will gladly get more specific pictures upon request, but I think you get a general idea of the condition of the car. However I do not want to overstate the condition of the car which can lead todisappointment. i feel the condition is overall slid, obviously the quarters will need some work and there is a few more spots on the body that may need some attention but we all know depending on what region you are from this car may be considered rusty or an absolute gem!
I also have purchased a 383/727 complete with exhaust manifolds and motor mounts all from a 66 Newport all making for a very easy big block swap in case I decided not to fix the original 318. This can be made available to the buyer for additional money.
I love this car! I love the trim package and the shape of the body and have envisioned building it since I got it, but it is just not in my best interest to build it right now, maybe next summer if I still have it but just not right now. I will try to answer questions to the best of my ability and I never intend to deceive anyone, but I havent owned the car long and am basically putting it up for sale to save myself from myself and starting in on this project. And no I did not buy this at a swap meet to come flip, these pics are when I took the car to Mopar Nationals in Woodburn, OR on 7/24 and had the car for sale there.
