BRIEF VEHICLE HISTORY:
Original Tennessee car sold new at King Solomon Motors in Morristown Tennessee to on April 28, 1973.
This is a 2 owner car as it was sold to an acquaintance on February 20, 1995. Regular scheduled service andmaintenance of the car has been documented since then.Documented history and service and maintenance records included along with the original owners manual, the original Retail Installment Agreement and 3 sets of keys 2 of which are original sets. These are shown in the last photo.
VEHICLE CONDITION:
Cosmetically, the car needs some body work and a paint job. The factory original color was mist green and the original owners had it painted around 1990 in a turquoise mist color. Today that paint job has well faded and worn. Rust in the lower quarters has been cut out and temporarily patched with foam filler and touched up with a similar color. The trunk pan will need attention as well. There are rust bubbles beneath the vinyl top around the rear window and above the windshield. The rest of the body and floorsare in good condition. The interior is as good as you could expect for an older car. Dash has 2 cracks and seats show minor wear. The plastic lower door panels have dried out and show wear as do the other interior parts of the same plastic material. Headliner and carpet show well. The steering wheel still looks almost new.
Mechanically, the car has been well maintained and you can tell as soon as you drive it. There are no leaks and the car shifts and drives beautifully. The engine is very clean and runs quietly like the old ad stated, "Meant to be see, not heard" if you remember that.
Factory Air Conditioning is there, needs charge. Blower, heat, defrost, vents are all working. All lights are in working order. Head lights, courtesy lights, dash lights, glove box lights, ashtray lights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signal lights, back up lights are all working. The horn is also in working order. Seat belts safety warning buzzer and display work as does the buzzer when the driver door is open with the key in the ignition. Speedo, oil pressure and voltage gauges are working. Temperature and fuel level gauges are not working. The original AMradio doesn't turn on either.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
This is truly a great Mopar find. In this type of original condition hard to come by. When you do come across one, chances are ithas been modified and who knows what else. This car has been adult owned and driven its entire life and, meticulously serviced and maintained which is why it still runs and drives as nice as it did 43 years ago.
