Plymouth Road Runner 1968 Description
Selling my 68 Road runner. This is a real RM21 car, not a clone. Originally a 383 automatic car now it has a 440. Runs and drives, new rechromed bumpers, fuel tank, sending unit, brakes, tires, arm rest pads, arm rest bases, inside and outside door handles and outside mirror. Interior is in good shape, seats were recovered (not original pattern but they look decent). Car has been repainted some years ago but it shines nice. Paint does have some scratches and chips in it that I believe can be touched up.I have the original AM radio and heater controls are there but the chrome is not very nice and they are not hooked up. I would recommend restoration on the radio and rechroming the heater control assembly. The back up lights do not work currentlybecause the plastic trip pin on the bottom of the column snapped, however the switch and wiring do work. It needs a new windshield washer bottle/pump. There is no rust coming through anywhere. The previous owner had dome some rust repair on the trunk drop offs and rear most lower quarter panels long ago. As a result the passenger quarter panel side marker is not cut into the new sheet metal. The socket and lamp is there but a new hole needs to be drilled for the lamp. The hood and doors need slight adjustment to make the gaps correct. They all latch correctly and firmly but the lines are notcorrect and I am not a body man and cannot get them pretty. The fender tag is there, it was ordered Burgundy with painted white top and the finish panel is original as well.
I really enjoy this car and hate to see it go, but I have another Road Runner project in my basement that I would like to finish and with 3 young children its hard to find time for 1 project let alone 2!
Please please please ask any questions before you bid on this car. I will do my best to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge and I would rather be upfront about everything and not waste everyones time. This car is not perfect by any means, but it is a good driver and over time you can fix the little things to make it very nice.
