Plymouth Duster 1973 Description

This auction is for a 1973 Duster that I bought out from under a shelter where it had been parked since late 1996. It would be a great car to turn back into a nice driver, or to build a 340 clone from since 1973 was the last year for the 340 Duster. It appears to have the original paint on it underneath the dust, lichens, and moss. I haven't found any signs of a repaint. It is a slant six with automatic on the column. It has power steering and manual drum brakes with the small bolt pattern. The fender tag decodes to Autumn Bronze Metallic with a Parchment interior. The front seat is either from another car, or recovered at some point because it has multi-colored stripes on it.The motor will crank up and run briefly with the gas that's in it. No smoking or knocking at all. It still has the California Emission equipment in place. The brake pedal goes to the floor as expected. While it was running I briefly pulled the transmission to drive and it immediately moved forward. Same thing for reverse. The trunk floor and lower rear quarters will need patch work as shown in the photos. I pulled the rubber floor mat back on both sides and found some holes in the passenger front floors. The front driver side has a lot of rust present under the mat, but I didn't see any holes. To besafe, I would assume it will need floor pans. The left rear quarter has some rust just ahead of the wheelwell. There is a spot of rust on the outside of thetop of the right rear wheel opening where it looks like the paint was chipped at some time and rust spread under the paint. Paint is worn thin behind front tires, but the fenders still lookgood. I didn't see any rust on the rockers at all. I found a few small bubbles (southern small) on the roof near the sail panels. Dash has been cut for a larger stereo, and dash pad hasbeen completely destroyed by the sun. Previous owner was going to convert interior to black and has some black trim panels and seatbelts inside the car. Three tires hold air, but the fourth will only hold air for about 45 minutes. The car will need to be picked up by a rollback, or put on a trailer. I can assist with loading.
This car was originally a California car that went to Tennessee in early 1996. It was sold to a guynear here when it was accidentally filled with diesel fuel on a trip to Florida later that year. The buyer cleaned out the fuel and put new brakes on it prior to parking it under the shelter where I found it over 20 years later. It is a project car and is sold as is, where is with no warranty of any type. I have a clearGeorgia in my name in hand for the car. A deposit of $500 is required through paypal within 48 hours of auction end. Balance of the sales price is due within 14 days of auction end. I will not ship the car, Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements. I will store the car for up to 30 days after auction ends unless other arrangements are agreed upon. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to see photos of any part of the car. Thanks for looking, and for bidding!
