Plymouth Fury 1966 Description

Up for auction is this 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury 2 door convertible, (One of 3418 produced for 1966 per the fact sheet from Myclassicgarage, com) with a highly sought after 383 V8 with a 3 speed Torqueflite automatic Transmission with 91k original miles. This car was a daily driver by the second owner who was an older gentleman before he lost his driving privileges It has black interior with front bucket seats (Drivers side power) with power windows, power steering, power brakes with drums on all 4 corn. Has a black automatic top, black carpeting. Looking at the fact sheets online we think it has Saddle Bronze or Citron Gold paint. (I'm not the best color guy) Cosmetically speaking for a 51 year old car it looks amazing. It has everything you would expect from a car of its age, a scratch here, a ding there, it's been driven and enjoyed.

There is no body filler or rust to be found on this car. The floors and trunk pan are all solid with no rust thru. The paint and interior where redone 25 years ago as stated by the previous owner with no mention of any motor work being done. It is a numbers matching car so it is believed to have never been rebuilt and is a survivor that has been regularly serviced. The engine does not smoke or leak or consume oil as we can tell. It did have an issue with the power steering return hose that has been replaced also the ignition has been upgraded to an electronic distributor, coil and new wires. The Weber 4bl Carburetor has been rebuilt and new Mopar air cleaner with Mopar valve covers has been installed. Looking in the engine bay there is good wire and hose management and is pretty clean for a daily driver. The transmission has no issues and shifts as it should. In the passenger area all the controls are in working order as is all the gauges and lights. The radio powers on but the antenna has been broken off so there is no signal but we hope to resolve that issue soon. The in dash clock does not work as they hardly ever do. The seats are in great shape with no rips or tares and the side panels look great and the carpet looks new, possibly replaced when the seats were reupholstered .

Ok let's take a look around the exterior of the car, the paint as stated is 25 years old and has a few flaws you will see in the pictures loaded here and in my Dropbox that I will be sending links to interested buyers. There is some peeling in the corner of the hood and a few dings like I said and a few places on the rear trunk lid and deck. The chrome trim is in need of some repair as the car was stored in a crowded space for some time before it was acquired and like I stated it was a daily driver and spent time in parking lots and was never replaced so it is all original. All of the glass is good with no cracks and the door seals are in good shape. The brakes are in working as they should. The top folds up and down with ease and has a few issues near the rear on the drivers side with two small tares and cracking from age. the rear window is not to weather beaten and you can see somewhat clearly out the back.

That's about it, any interested buyers can message me thru ebay and I will send you a link to all the pictures showing more details of this car.

Just a side note here, we are working on the car getting a few things straightened out like a new antenna for the radio and repairing some of the chrome trim issues. also we had a new front bumper for it but it turned out to be the wrong one so we have another brand new one on order and will install it as soon as we get it.
