Plymouth Road Runner 1973 Description
DO NOT BUY THIS CAR FOR ANYONE WHO CANNOT HANDLE LOTS OF HORSEPOWER........DO NOT BUY THIS FOR YOUR CHILD IF HE OR SHE IS UNDER 25 YEARS OLDfor sale today 1973 road runner / GTX. this car is beautiful, wet sanded and buffed to a high gloss the f-1 sea mist green (one year only paint color),along with the reflective white stripe kit really sets this one off. This GTX was built for speed from the beginning, there are no frills or horsepower robbing accessories on this GTX. It does have power steering, but you need that with a big b-body so you can get her through the corners.
The motor in this car is not your standard 1973 440. She has been treated to a full high performance build to include, 10 to 1 flat top pistons, balanced rotating assembly, ported heads, flow matched and ported intake, all topped with a 750 Holley street avenger carb. has 1969 hp exhaust manifolds that dump into 3 inch dual exhaust pipes. have pictures of all of this as well as receipts. the valve covers and the rest of the engine chrome is a little tired and the chrome is flaking on the alternator, but it all works fine.
The interior is nice, with a new headliner, the rest of the interior is original and cleaned up really well. the pillar post covers and the rear lower plastics are starting to show signs of deterioration. To be perfect it would need new interior panels. The carpet is still good and appears to be original. ALL gauges work, all lights work, and no cracks in the dash as it was replaced or restored years ago.
The exterior is really nice. The paint is new, applied to a very smooth body. there was rust in the lower quarters and fender bottoms all repaired with new sheet metal or metal pirated from another road runner. Engine compartment, door jambs and trunk were painted. Everything was removed to paint this car, bumpers, grill, door handles mirrors and trim. Bumpers were polished and look nice. New trunk seal, mirrors, and running lights. Headlight bezels polished to a high gloss, grill is restored to like new condition. this is a hood pin car, I have the lanyards but don't want them scratching the paint. The steering and front end components have been replaced along with the k member bushing replaced with the hard polygraphite bushings. The tires still have good tread. the wheels are in good shape and have been painted the correct argent silver color . the positrac rear end works great.
this is a real nice numbers matching 440 road runner gtx in a very rare one year only color that has been restored to be a keeper. I do not have to sell this car but I do have other GTX's waiting (they are not for sale or any parts). bid to win reserve is VERY reasonable for this car with this much documentation and this much motor. I can hold the car for pickup but it must be paid for within seven days. Will help with shipping, but cost of shipping is buyers responsibility. 500.00 paypal deposit, the remaining balance by cash or bank transfers. Happy bidding
