For sale is my 1968 Plymouth Barracuda RestoMod. New HiPo 360 . 727 Torque Flight auto.

Plymouth Sublime Green (not a 1968 color option). Black interior.

This car was originally offered for sale, y the previous owner, t Mecum Auction Denver in June 2015. It was a “The Bid Goes On” no sale at $22,000 and the owner trailered it back home to Alabama. It was lot #14 on Saturday, une 27 on Velocity TV.

https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/DN0615-215694/0/1968-Plymouth-Barracuda/Automatic/. I then purchased the car a few weeks later from the owner in Alabama.

This car is a true crowd pleaser and is really fun to drive. The car is loud, right and pretty quick.

Engine: A newly built 360 bored 40 over. Rated at 400 hp says previous owner. The engine is still in break in mode and has less than 100 miles on it. Break in oil still being used. Yes…I know the 360 was not available in 1968

The original 318 V8 was removed by the previous owner and he kept it as I had no interest in it. Should the new owner want the anemic 318, t can be picked up in Alabama from the previous owner.

Engine is very strong and has no issues. Keith Black Pistons 10:1 compression. High lift racing cam. Weiand intake. Quick Fuel (Holley) 750. I added the Quick Fuel Heat Shield to deflect engine heat. Ported heads. Aluminum racing radiator runs cool all day long in Louisiana heat. High flow oil pump and fuel pump. Car sounds great with that cam and loud exhaust.

I would add a MSD type ignition I if was keeping the car.

Transmission/Rear End: original rebuilt 727 TorqueFlight 3 speed automatic. Shifts nicely with mild shift kit. Rear end is Mopar 8 ¾ with 439 case. 4.10 gears. Trans cooler line leaks at radiator but I fixed it. May happen again.

Exhaust: Headman long tube headers are leak free. 3 inch exhaust with Flow Master Super 10’s to side pipes have been unbolted at the headers and removed, ut go with car sale. I added $600 worth of New 2 ½ inch custom bent exhaust from headers back to rear bumper dump have been put in place with brand new Flowmaster 40’s. So you have a choice of two exhaust options. Just unbolt and switch as you like. Side pipes are NASCAR loud.

Glass: all original glass it appears. No cracks or defects that I see

Bright work: all emblems and bright work in great shape. Some new. Some original. Some blacked out.

Weather stripping: i added $500 worth of new correct weather stripping and rubber. Includes all new door weather stripping. New drip rail stripping. Trunk weather stripping. Firewall to hood drip rail. Hood to radiator stripping. Wind lace. Trunk and hood bumpers. Door bumpers. Clove box bumpers.

New Fire wall insulation.

Paint: 1970 paint option Sublime green. Paint is not an 8 of 10 like previous owner claimed at Mecum. I am a tougher judge of paint and give it a 6/7. The door jams, runk jams and hidden areas are poorly done. Keep all that closed up and you got some good looking lime green paint.

All larger panels of paint are in great shape. Shine well with deep rich shine. Just has a few bad behind the seen spots. It DOES NOT need a repaint, ust fix up the rough spots in hiding.

Exterior: Body is straight without dents or defects. Any signs of rusted floor pans appeared to have been repaired by previous owners and I am satisfied with that work.

Interior: all new interior skins. New door panels. New headliner. New woodgrain steering wheel. New glove box lower chrome face. Wood grain center console inserts. Rear seat quarter panels have holes for speakers that are not present.

Electrical: Original Speedometer and tach work fine. Other gauges do not operate, ut after market vital gauges are under dash mounted and work fine. car comes with an extra speedo cable in box.

Suspension: all in fine working order. Rear suspension and leaf springs include 4 inch blocking to lower rear stance that can be removed if needed. Makes for a stiffer ride, ut looks much better in stance.

Wheels/Tires: New American Racing mags with brand new Kuhmo speed rated tires.

Performance: the car will flat out fly. Starts, uns and stops without issue. This is not a long distance car. Rear end limits highway speeds. Suspension is rougher than a night in jail. This is a great cruiser or red light-red light car. light to light…you are not gonna be outrun by anything. If you are beat, ou will still look and sound much cooler than the vehicle that beat you.

What does it need?

The door jamb paint really bothers me. Needs to be resanded/blasted and repainted with no clear.

Put speaker grills on rear seat quarter panels.

Put an OEM radio in it for looks.

Vintage Air for the south regions would be nice.

I am selling to move on to another project. Car is sold as is. No warranty
