Plymouth Other 1937 Description
A lot of labor went into this little gem by our master Fabricator Mr Larry G... we had most of the parts in storage....It has been Quartered, he cab roof was chopped 5 inches in front, nd 4 inches in back and the windshield set back, he cab was narrowed by 4 .5 inches, nd the hood was cut to accommodated the narrow body....The rear window was circulated to keep the full original size.. all the glass is new and new seals....the body is lowered over the frame 4 inches..We used laser cut frame parts from Macs Ratz to build the frame see the pictures. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch suspended on 4 bars and a arched leaf spring in back, hocks are friction shocks...the steering box is a Unisteer unit mounted on the outside of the frame, sing a left side tie bar..The motor is a rebuilt 318 bored 40 over, ith a mild cam, nd 360 heads which were decked to bring up the compression, ntake gaskets used block the heat riser ports I believe..intake is Edelbrock and a Edelbrock 4 barrel.. the headers are handmade on Chrysler flanges, xhaust is 12 inch cherry bombs before Diesel stacks mounted behind the cab.
A STRONG Mopar theme was intended throughout the build process....the color sublime was used for the frame and interior trim... 727 tranny with manual shifting with Lokar unit
The steering takes some to get used to, t is a unisteer box mounted length wise. and needs to be babied in a parking situation because of the width of the front tires... the steering wheel is a cut down Ford Banjo frame with handmade woodwheel....possibly could be bigger to assist steering.
Aluminum radiator with electric fan in front.....all gauges in center of dash need to be hooked up but the panel under the dash keeps the water temp and oil pressure under eye.. the dash is from a 36 Plymouth sedan and is marbled . the battery is a Braille gel mounted under the dash. the interior is entirely done and has a headliner and door panels.. there are no electric units or poppers... the handles on the outside are from a 34 Ford
Winning buyer is to make a non refundable 500 dollar deposit by Pay Pal in 24 hrs and the balance by cash cashier check or wire transfer within 7 days......shipping is responsibility of the buyer, t is not included in the auction....we will help load and shipping pick up can only be done during business hours 8 am to 5 pm, nd no Saturday pickup
I just drove this car yesterday and ran it out, ttracks like it is on rails and is very capable in terms of speed...It has to be shifted like it is manual, eing a rebuilt 727 transmission with no kick down, t needs to be downshifted to slow down.... the brakes are very good, isc in front drum in rear.... there is no booster only a Wilwood master set up. It really resembles a Go cart, he seats are on the floor and there is plenty of foot room because the cowl area is deeper than most Pick ups..
