Pontiac Trans Am 1981 Description

1981 PontiacTurbo Trans AmOne owner survivor with 45k original miles withFull documentation.
You are looking at a real survivor 1981 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am. This car has been well maintained and has been stored in a heated garage since 1999. Iwilldescribe this car as honestly as possible and if you have any questions please email and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Please only bid if you have the funds available.
Body: This car has all of its original body panels and all of its original paint. Overall it shows well. This is a used vehicle so it does have some chips, cratches, ings but nothing major, ust normal wear and tear. The doors shut nice and all of the body gaps are what you would expect from an original car. All of the decals are original and do have some minor fading and cracking but still look good. Overall it is a nice survivor body and paint that would look good at local shows or cruises.
Interior: The interior is original and in very nice shape. The seats are clean with no rips or stains and are nice and firm. The dash and gauge cluster are in fantastic shape and all of the gauges function properly. The carpet and door panels are clean. The rear panels are faded lighter than the rest of the interior which is typical for these cars. The headliner is in nice shape but is a little loose in the back. The radio is original and plays well. The previous owners were non smokers so there is no stains, urns or odors. Overall the interior is fully functional and very nice throughout.
Mechanical: The 301 fires right up ad goes to high idle as it should. It kicks down and idles at a smooth 750 rpm. The motor is smooth and quiet with no taps, nocks or smoke and makes good power. The turbo was replaced under warranty years ago. The engine still retains it's original plug wires and belts. I did have to replace the radiator and lower hose because they were leaking badly. The transmission shifts nice and firm through all of the gears and the rear is nice and quiet. The power steering works well and the factory 4 wheel disc brakes stop nice and straight. Theexhaustis quiet and mostly original. It did have one muffler replaced but the other muffler and the rest of the exhaust is original. The suspension is nice and tight and the car tracks down the road nice and straight. The tires are in good shape and smooth on the road but are over 15 years old. All of the glass is clear and in nice shape. The heat works and the blower motor works on all of the speeds. The AC is complete but does not blow cold. Overall it is a nice, ight driving and very functional original car.
If you are looking for a real survivor car that comes with all of its original documentation including the original title, indow sticker and owners manuals this is it. I did not look but I am sure the original build sheet is still in the car somewhere. There might be cleaner, hinier cars out there but you will be hard pressed to find one more original. Please ask any questions before bidding and I will be happy to answer them. Thanks for looking and good luck.
