Pontiac Firebird 1977 Description
Here is a nice andvery original 1977 Pontiac Firebird. I am the 2nd owner and bought it from the original owner who drove it while in school.Odometer states 37k....137k....is what the original owner told me. This car is Mostly original; original interior with exception of the work listed below….even the carpet is original with a 1977 date stamp under the left rear passenger seat (didn’t get a pic of it but it’s there) there is a small tear on drivers side but it could be sewn and is under floor mat…just thought the original looked too nice to replace. Car has original drivetrain (231ci V6).
I haveputa bunch of work into this car...I found this car has been repainted in the original factory color once. I had a hard time finding another car this color to describe it but I did eventually find that this car’s color is called Bahia Green, a very rare and desirable color! Here is what I've done to the car these last few months....
New Cooper Cobra raised white letter tires with warranty P225 75R15
New solid chrome lug nuts on all 4 sides
New Rear wheel brake cyls….fronts are discs and all pads front and rear have lots of life left…also bled the entire system
Fresh oil change
Front end alignment
New left and right lower door panels
Dyed upper original door panels…they are both in excellent condition
Dyed original arm rest pads…they are both in excellent condition
New door handle cups
New door lock knobs
New sail panels
New seat backs
Replaced both seat back lowers
New gear shifter housing and hardware
New floor mats…I’ll include factory original rubber ones in the trunk
New Pontiac emblem for the front fascia
Checked all lights inside and out and replaced all burned out bulbs
A very thorough cleaning of the entire car inside and out
Clay bared the entire car to remove contaminants from the paint and polished out
I left the original metal dealer tag on the car because the original leather key fob from the dealership matches (and included in sale)…Cain Pontiac in Franklin Tenn.…just thought it was cool!
Now for the bad…I did find a bit of rust bubbling on the right rear quarter panel (see it in pics of right rear wheel)…and under at the very back It does have some rust on a sheet metal panel behind the trunk…see pics…I’d replace that one panel…but that’s it. Floors, fenders, doors, trunk, and frame are all very nice and solid...see pics. Car also has a new carb, and mint condition original documentation to include owner’s manual (both general information and operating instructions), maintenance schedule, consumer information, build sheet, factory accessories and 1977 original Title (sorry don’t have a pic of that). This car is in very nice condition. Call or email with questions…one final thing, all panels dyed were sprayed with Dupicolor HVP105 vinyl dye…specifically made for vinyls and fabrics, plastics that flex. On Jan-26-17 at 20:01:20 PST, seller added the following information:just noted I put 260 in the top area...the car has a 231...
