Pontiac Trans Am 1991 Description
For sale is my 1991 Trans Am WS6 Convertible with 5 Spd. tranny. The car originally had a 305. but currently has a fully forged steel internals 350 specifically built for the D-1SC superchareger. The 5 spd. option for the 1991 TA Convertible was a limited production of only 104 cars. The car was originally sold in Sterling Heights. Mi. with every factory option (except CD Player) for $24. 55. The previous owner actually added the factory CD Player which is currently in the car. The car was all modified during my ownership with the intention of having a super fast car and a daily driver with the comfort of AC. The unique power plant of the car is a custom twin intercooled D-1SC Procharger that was the product of work from ATI and a fellow member of Thirdgen. org. The ytpical intercooler kit for the thirdgen cars utilized a single intercooler under the radiator. This inhibited the flow of air to the radiator. The placement of the twin intercoolers are to each end of the car and allow air to vent through the radiator. The fuel system and ECM have also been modified to accomodate the supercharger. The car has minor scratches and chips in the paint as expected from a driven car. but overall looks clean. The original hood was replaced with the Ram Air III hood. The bumpers have been recently painted. The interior was completely rebuilt since my ownership. The only wear is to the driver's seat typical from usage. Overall the car is easily show quality for cruise nights and car meets. The modifications made to the car were done with the intent to make it an unsuspected contender at the track. However. the car was never used for this purpose as I did not want to install a roll cage to make it track legal. In addition to the engine upgrades. work was also done to the electronics. suspension. drive train. interior and exterior of the car. I have much time and money invested into the car. The car was my daily driver until 2005 and then has had limited use and garaged. The engine alone was $9. 41 along with the superchareger kit at $4. 00 makes the cost of the power plant almost $13. 00. I have over $25. 00 into the car. The car has my heart and soul into it. but at this point in my life it is more performance than I am looking for. The car is powerful and wants to be driven fast. I have not had it dynoed. but I expect the HP to be over 400 RWHP. It had 343 RWHP with the original 305. The car had the following upgrades and work performed:Power Plant:ATI D-1SC Procharger with custom dual intercooler systemSLP Stainless Steel headersSLP Stainless Steel 3” Exhaust w/ Performance Catalytic Converter Engine is a forged internal 350.
