Pontiac Bonneville 1968 Description
Up for sale is a 1968 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. This car is another Texas barn find we came up with. We got the car started and ran it thru the gears a few times. The Pontiac 400 engine sounds very good. The engine does not make any noise and is not smoking. The odometer shows 14000 so I suspect it is 114000. The brakes do not work. but I did not mess with them any at all. The transmission went in forward and reverse with out any noise. It obviously needs a top. but the top frame looks to be in very good shape. The bows are all straight and line up to the front and sides very well. The body is in decent shape. There ie rust above the passenger rear wheel. Looks like there was some poor body work done at some point in hte past and it is rusting around that. It feels like there may of been some body work done around the driver side rear wheel also. It is not rusted like the other side. but does not feel smooth. The interior is all there. but needs a lot of attention. Fortunately they pulled carpet and pad out at some point in the past so the floor pans are very good shape and show no signs of rust. Trunk is full of crap that I am leaving in the car but I do not think it all goes to the car. Some is Pontiac. but I am not sure about all of it. No rust in trunk pan. The car has been repainted probably twice. The black paint job is poorly done also. The paint started popping off while I was power washing the car. I do have a clean Texas title in hand. The title is not in my name. but is signed off with all signatures needed to transfer. The car is located about 50 miles east of Amarillo in zip code 79065. It must be paid for in full before it goes on a trailer. If you come to pick up the car and feel that I mis-represented it in any way I will refund your money in full. Ask any questions you have and I will get you an answer asap. 4-4-15 Went down and worked on the car some today. Bled the brakes today and got those to working. Drove the car around behind the shop. The front brakes are grabbing a little. but I suspect that will get better as it gets driven and used. The transmission goes right into drive and reverse and feels good. I did not get it going fast enough to shift thru 2nd and 3rd. All the windows go up and down and are smooth and quite. Both the back windows have an portriat etched in them. I included a pic of them. The top started up. but sounds like the pump may be low on fluid so I did not try to take it all way back. While bleeding the brakes. I did find that there is also rust in the bottom of the driver rear quarter also. It could probably be fixed with a patch panel. but I personally would put a full panel on it. I tried to take a pic of it. but you can`t see it in the pic so I did not add it. The hubcap that is missing on the driver front wheel is in the car. Thanks for looking.
