SAME OWNER FOR 36 YEARS. American car collectors are basically broken down into two groups: pre-war and post-war collectors. In terms of the post-war collectors. usually the greatest and most highly valued collectibles are found in the years from 1953 through 1959. General Motors design led by Harley Earl produced some of the most fantastic limited production concept cars that were ever produced. Among these are the 1953 Cadillac Eldorado. 1957/58 Cadillac Eldorado and the 1953/54 Buick Skylark and the 1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta are all very high on the list of sophisticated car collectors. On this list and close to the top of the pecking order of GM production concept cars is the 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Special. not only was it a limited production car but Bunkie Knudsen who had just taken over the Pontiac Division at General Motors saw to it that the dowdy image of Pontiac from previous years would be shaken up tremendously by making a production concept car that was not only beautiful in design but also had neck snapping acceleration with Pontiac’s own fuel injection setup. Every 1957 Pontiac Bonneville had fuel injection. special deluxe leather interior and plenty of extra chrome trim. spinner hubcaps and two special color schemes. All of the above mentioned limited production concept cars including the 1957 Pontiac Bonneville convertible are destined to be the leaders in the appreciation of value in future years to come. Finding any one of these cars in top condition is a rare find and an excellent investment. The car that is listed in this ad is a restored 1957 Pontiac Bonneville convertible with fully working fuel injection. power windows. power seats. power brakes. leather interior and all the other amenities that came with the Pontiac Bonneville. We found some information on the Internet that describes the attributes of the Pontiac Bonneville Early development: 1954–1957 for the Bonneville 1957 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Bonneville convertible The Bonneville name first appeared in 1954 on a pair of bubble-topped GM Motorama concept cars called the Bonneville Special. It entered the production lineup as a high-performance. fuel-injected luxury convertible within the Star Chief line in the 1957 model year and was loaded with every conceivable option as standard equipment with the exception of optional air conditioning. This put the Bonneville in a Cadillac-like price range of $5. 00 - more than double the base price of a Chieftain four-door sedan. A fully equipped Bonneville could cost more than a Cadillac. Only 630 units were produced that first year. making it one of the most collectible Pontiacs of all time. The following year it would become its own separate model. and it would endure until 2005 as the division's top-of-the-line model. The name was taken from the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. the site of much early auto racing and most of the world's land speed record runs. which was named in turn after U. S. Army officer Benjamin Bonneville. We at MissChiTown as marketing agents for car collector’s selling their cars on Ebay are proud to be able to present this car for purchase.
