Pontiac Other 1957 Description

Pontiac 1957 Starchief Safari wagon---RARE--Rare--Rare-

What can you say about only having produced 1292 of these rare cars when they built over 6000 57 chevy Nomads--(imagine Pontiac division making this low number? when they made 1600 53 Buick skylarks) Not to mention how many were junked--Whats left?? maybe 200?

TIME is really on your side with this car as its already done--and it has the best look of any 57 safari.

When is the last time you saw one--

It’s the right color combination although not sure this color combo with silver is original ( but have seen 2 others) but most of the time the maroon metallic cars were with white--but the look is incredible--repaint about 5 years ago same as when I bought it--don’t know original color have pics when I bought it--7 years ago. All chrome and molding polished and redone. Glass in good shape. The indian heads on the fenders light up and are all redone. Tailgate works nice doesn't look like any rust ever as it has been a California car for most if not all its life.

Underside is very clean with gas tank renewed. No rust spots anywhere--and well cleaned. Pics will be available

This car runs strong and fast--the hydro trans has been redone and the motor ( 347" factory) is so strong I didn’t rebuild. Carb--brakes--oil--radiator --electronic ign and all the usual stuff was redone to make it a strong runner with no issues, he pic of the instruments are at 60MPH showing Oil-temp etc--while driving--so u know what is really going on. Power steering & brakes. Speedo mileage can't tell if went around or just 23K miles. New dual exhaust has the right sound as well. Tires are bias wide white walls in great shape--and the optional Bonneville hubcaps. This car had original AC as the dash AC vents are impossible to get and the holes in the bottom of the firewall for freon. other than the dash bezels (most important part) Easy fix is put late model vintage air and keep the original look--their was a AC unit original on ebay for $4500 if u can believe that.--The hard part is the dash bezels to keep the look.

The interior is spectacular Matching maroon and silver and ALL Leather every where door panels etc--except new headliner is vinyl--sorry--All interior chrome redone including top bows and really cool cargo area. It is done with the original pattern with matching new carpet. The radio has been upgraded to am/fm/stereo. In the cargo area which is all redone the spare compartment is with a new small spare and tool kit.

Make no mistake in 5 years this car will be one of those over the top cars, n demand. In order to figure out what its worth had to do some serious research as they are so rare.-- there already is one in orange county for sale $74,000, nd in phoenix one for $85,000. One sold last year at auction for $72,000+at auction. One is available for complete restore needing floors and complete everything for $16000. Nada shows an average one at $65K with a final restored at $120K, ou'll have to decide one this one.

Would u rather have this at a car show--or cars and coffee-- or a bunch of $$$$ in the bank--
