1967 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan Ambulance

Description

Description: a 1967 Pontiac Bonneville Sedan ambulance currently owned by a physician who purchased the car with the intent to use it in parades to promote his podiatrist practice. It was shipped from Pennsylvania to Iowa in 2007. The doctor is simplifying his life. I work for him and his wife.

When the ambulance was in Pennsylvania it was used in a “scare” house – hence the decals. We can attach a photo of how it originally looked when it was in service at St. Catharine’s Hospital in Canada. It still has most or all of the original rescue equipment & materials from when it was used at the hospital – including oxygen tanks, stretcher, oe tags, and-Aids – all the stuff you’d expect – including kids’ coloring books, ll pointing back to the years it was in service in Canada. It is a almost as if the ambulance drivers simply walked away from it when they “decommissioned” it.

He has had it in storage for the better part of 7 years. We took it out of storage, oved it to its current location (in the Cedar Rapids area in Iowa), nd took the photos we’ve posted– except the one “original” as mentioned above. We put all new fluids in, new battery, tc, nd were able to start the ambulance and drive it out of the storage unit. However, ecause we did not have plates – and it didn’t sound great – we chose to tow it to its present location. I most certainly think you’d have to have a mechanic look over the engine & transmission to determine if you could drive it to your present location. Given that it sat for so long, ou would probably do better to have it towed.

Here’s what else we can tell you. The tires were new when they were put on. By law, he sirens & emergency lights were disabled prior to it being shipped to Iowa. The photos do not show the main big red light that you’d expect to see on the roof. I would assume it was removed when it was shipped to Iowa. However, t is inside the vehicle and can easily be re-installed.

There is some cosmetic damage to the passenger body – I believe rear of the middle door. That would require some body work. We have the Title, nd it is clean.

Overall, would say it is in excellent, intage condition, aiting for the right person or business to restore it and put it back on the road.
