Pontiac Trans Am 1987 Description
Up for auction ismy 1987 trans am. I bought this a few months ago with good intentions to restore it and put it back on the road... but right after I bought this, I found a different trans am that I would rather put my efforts into, so this one hasta go!
Overall, the car is not bad at all. It is not rusty, inside, outside, or underneath. It has low original mileage. The seats aren't all ripped up, the carpet isn't bad...overall the interior just needs cleaned up..The paint would even shine up decent, although it does have clearcoat peeling in some areas. The wheels all look good, but the tires are cracked from sitting. Dash is nice with only one small crack between left speaker and defrost duct. It has the rare aero rear spoiler and seldom seen overhead console. The T-tops are nice, and someone already replaced the rubber around them. They don't seem to leak, as Ive had the car outside since I got it in early May.Has an aftermarket exhaust of unknown manufacturer...but its definitely not stock.Has a small crack in lower right corner of the windshield, shown in photo. This does not even go into the visual portion of windshield...but I want to note it.
The car sat, covered, since 2009 according to the man I bought it from...and that is the last time it ran. I didn't take the time to try to get it running. The engine turns freely, has compression, the oil looks good ( no water, no metallic ) and when looking inside the valve cover ( see picture ), the engine looks very clean. Telling me that it was probably well cared for. The tranny fluid also doesn't smell burnt and is not gritty to the touch. I noticed that the plug wires were chewed by mice, so at the bare minimum, they will need to be replaced. It does not appear that any other wiring was chewed ( trust me, I REALLY looked to make sure once I saw the plug wires chewed, I didn't want an electrical nightmare on my hands!), they just really must have liked the rubber shielding on the plug wires.
I snapped a picture of the RPO sheet, so you can check all the original options this car came with. I don't know what else to say about it, other than I am tired of mowing around it and would like to see it go to someone who can either part it out or save it...the car is definitely worth saving in my opinion. It would be a shame to part it out, but it definitely has a ton of good, desirableparts.
I'm not trying to hide anything with this car, what you see is pretty much what you get. If you have ANY questions, or need a specific picture of anything, please contact me. I will be forthcoming and honest about anything and everything...I am not here to rip anyone off!I am just hoping to get what I paid for the car, but I am going to list it at a penny...and wherever it ends up, it ends up! No reserve auction....BID TO WIN!!
If you are the winner, I expect this car to be GONE from my property NOLATER than the end of JULY, 2017! If this doesn't work for you, please don't bid. I'm selling it cheap to get it out of my way, not to store it for someone else. I also expect to either be paid in full through paypal, or receive a 25% deposit within 3 days of auctions end, with arrangements made with me to pay the balance when the car is picked up. Understand, this car does not run, and will need to be towed. It does roll freely, however.
GOOD LUCK!!
