Pontiac Firebird 1969 Description
Ok heres the lowdown on my 1969 Pontiac. I bought it off the original owner 2 years ago and have finally gotten to her this summer. All stock 350 4 bbl with an auto tranny. I bought some parts off Jegs to get her up and running just from sitting including a new 4 core aluminum radiator, ew carb, uel filter, uel lines, ew hoses, erpentine belt and an ignition module, ires, ap, otor and plugs. I dropped the gas tank, leaned it and put it back on. Drained and refilled the rear end and tranny with fresh fluids. Bought some used valve covers and replaced them along with new gaskets. Theres a new used battery in it now that works fine. I bought 4 used matching firestone tires for it and installed. 70 percent tread left. Rebuilt the brakes. Have reciepts for all work done and all the new stuff is under warranty.Car starts runs and sounds good. Stops good too. Theyre a little touchy but they work. Takes off nice and straight. Ive rode it on the highway a couple times the last month. Its really a nice driver as is. Factory air cond ca, (still has evaporator but compressor is gone) has factory tilt wheel, onsole shift, actory black bucket interior on ok condition. Headliner good. Seats fully operational. Its just old. This bird needs restored to be truly exceptional and my asking price reflects that. Has a little rust on the corner of the back glass needs some help but the rest of the car has very little rust, he inside of trunk and quarter panels are pretty much rust free, as a little bubbling bottom rear of fenders, assenger door has been damaged and repaired a long time ago and they did an ok bondo job on it also the car was a vinyl top car that was removed a long time ago and the holes filled with bondo the original owner told me.
In my opinion if I were to keep it the car will need to be fully stripped down and repaired correctly to be an A+ looker or If your a handy man you could do a little body work, hrow on a quick paint job and drive it as is and have a really nice car for the money. All in all a great buy. I have a stock 400 hood with scoops, umper and grill as well as a brand new 400 formula trim and badge setup I can throw in for the right price as well. Interested parties can email me with any questions they may have. Can help with shipping if not too far or maybe meet halfway? Price is negotiable. Would like to get back what Ive got into it and move on to the next project. Its time for this bird to fly! Thanks for looking
