237675P231424 Engine# YN 368797 1965 Pontiac LeMans GTO Tribute RB Collection is pleased to feature this attractive 1965 Pontiac LeMans convertible. This sound and enjoyable driver has been carefully upgraded to look like a GTO with many period correct parts. It is finished in the classic shade of Burgundy Red Poly over a black interior and top. The paint is tidy and clean, showing a few flaws here and there, but remaining very attractive for a driver-quality example. The body is similarly straight and sound, with decent gaps, alignment and trim. Chrome and brightwork present well, with minimal pitting and good detailing all around. GTO badging has been added to the grille, flanks and trunk, and a set of PMD rally wheels round out the GTO looks. The black pinpoint vinyl convertible top fits well, showing some pulling near the side windows, but is free of tears, rips or staining. The rear window is clear and the power operation works flawlessly thanks to the straight and excellent frame. According to the trim tag, this LeMans originally left the factory with a black bucket seat interior and a black top. The correct black upholstery presents very well with no rips, tears or excessive wear. Original seatbelts remain with the car and the dash pad, center console and black carpets are all in good order. The instrument panel is in in fair condition, with GTO-style engine-turned trim around the gauges in good shape, though the applique is lifting slightly around the heater controls. A period-look modern radio has been fitted and a wood rimmed wheel gives a sporting flavor to the interior. Under the hood is the correct 326 Pontiac V8 with a single four barrel carb and backed by a Powerglide automatic transmission. It is believed that this is the original drivetrain for this car, with the trim tag and engine code stamping providing compelling evidence. The engine runs strong and pulls well, emitting that classic Pontiac soundtrack thanks to dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The transmission shifts well and the drivetrain is clean and free of excessive leaks and drips. Power steering and power front disc brakes make for an enjoyable and relaxed drive, and the whole car has the feel of being solid and well-maintained. The undercarriage is sound and fairly clean, this southern car appears never to have been severely rusty or damaged. Our in-house restoration experts performed a full 108-point inspection and found no major issues. Suspension and steering are tight and precise, making this a great driving car. With room for your family, a top that folds and a great soundtrack from the strong-running Pontiac V8, this is an enjoyable entry-level classic that is reliable and fun with the looks of a much pricier GTO. This LeMans is turnkey and ready to enjoy as is, though has room for some cosmetic improvements for those who enjoy casual tinkering. Either way, this is an outstanding value and a great way to get into a great-looking, classic American convertible.
