Pontiac Trans Am 1978 Description

1978 W72 Trans Am Second owner. includes scan of dealer invoice and paperwork from purchase. Includes original build sheet. Restored approximately 3 years ago. 2. 00 miles since restoration. Car has the following options: Power windows. power locks. rear window defrost. power trunk release. air conditioning. door edge guards. blacked out tail light trim. WS6 suspension. W72 engine package. M21 Borg warner 4 speed. The car was dissambled but the subframe was left under it. It recieved 2 new quarter panels. trunk extensions. minor outer wheelhouse repair. The car was only partially assembled for paint so it looks very nice inside. in the trunk and under the hood. The engine was disassembled. heads were milled . 050. A performance cam and anti pump up lifters were installed. The lower end had aproximately 20k on it at time of restoration so new rings and bearings only in the bottom end. The bore is . 020 over and crank is . 010 . 010 under. It now has an edelbrock intake. demon 750 carb. hooker headers and 3" exhaust with the correct trans am tips. this car is quick! The transmission was opened and inspected. all syncros. bearings and gears were in excellent condition. All of the front suspension was removed. stripped and sandblasted. detailed and repainted. The under hood was cleaned. sanded and repainted. It presents very well. The paint is two stage DuPont Chroma. The interior is about 50% original so some of it does show some wear. It has new front seat upholstery. package tray. carpet and dash coverlay. everything else was cleaned and dyed as needed. It could use a headliner and the rear interior quarter trim pieces could be replaced. The door panels and armrests are fair. This is a beautiful driver. it is not a frame off trailer queen. I have now put around 2. 00 miles on it and it turns heads everywhere. It's not flawless but presents very well. It's also very quick and a blast to drive. The air conditioning is not hooked up in the pictures but I have the hose ordered and it will have functioning ice cold ac at time of sale. I am still in contact with the original owner who has told me many stories about the car and has asked me to pass on her contact info to the next care taker so I will put you on touch with her. She is a fantastic person and would love to be able to follow along with her baby. I included a couple pictures of the car when I got it from her. As I was told from her when the car was new it had a chronic over heating problem. It went back to the dealer several times and finally it was there two weeks. When I took the car apart I found the block IS NOT numbers matching. It is a vin'd 78 date coded block and my assumption is it was replaced at that time. The crank. balancer. heads are all correct and the factory intake and exhaust manifolds will be boxed and in the trunk. Car is located in southeast Idaho and was purchased new at Stephen Wade Pontiac in downtown Salt Lake City. While the car has been gone through very thoroughly it is still an older car so it is for sale as is with no warranty. REQUIRED!! contact me via ebay messaging or call me before purchase. I like to make sure a future owner knows everything about a vehicle and it would be too much to type so please contact me before bidding for details! Please call with questions!! 208-419-6993
