Pontiac Trans Am 1979 Description
1979 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 4-speed with original Pontiac 400 engine. ****************************************************************The last year for the Pontiac 400 in a Trans Am and it was only available with the 4-speed! RARE! One of 2. 85 Trans Am's built with the Pontiac 400 and no t-tops. PHS documented Pontiac 400 W72. The W72 was Pontiac's high performance engine for 1979 with special heads. cam shaft. chrome moly upper compression rings and satin chrome valve covers. The engine is the correct "PWH" code and the serial number matches the vin on the car. The engine is strong with great oil pressure. Also equipped with the WS6 handling package with 4 wheel disc brakes. Mileage reads 71440 but is unknown. The TA still has its original rare Atlantis blue paint. This is a very desirable and rare color. With original paint you can see this is a solid car with no rust issues. The paint is not perfect with scratches and fading you'd expect from 35 year old paint. The body has a few dings. bumps. scratches and a small dent on the front bumper. It's not perfect but it does have survivor character. The trunk. floor and frame rails are solid. There's one small hole in the rear tail section. The interior dash has two cracks in it. The seats are good except the driver side has a rip by where the seat belt connects. It needs to have the choke worked on as it doesn't idle well when it's cold. but it runs great when warmed up. The air conditioner compressor is off the car but it appears to be all there and goes with the car. The tires and brakes are like new and the 8" snowflake rims are in great shape. The exhaust sounds ok but really needs to be changed to the stock version. This is a nice car for a restoration or drive around as a work in progress survivor. The reserve is set at a fair price for such a solid. rare car. If you have any questions please ask before bidding. Thank you for your interest.
