Pontiac Firebird 1980 Description

1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo in nice condition. Color is "Montreux Maroon." We have the original window stickerand documentation from new, ncluding owner's manuals and many repair receipts that document the maintenance historyand the fact that the Trans Am was repainted in its original color in September 2003. The Trans Am was purchased new in August 1980 from Davis Pontiac, ort Wayne, ndiana and was rust proofed at that time (Ziebart). Documentation also shows that the headliner was replaced in July 1995 and the motor wasrebuilt inOctober 1995 (including the installation of a rebuilt turbo) when the car had 86,549 miles. We have only driven the Trans Amoccasionally (once or twice per month) since we purchased it about a year ago. We recently decided to sell it because we moved, o longer have the space available to store it and the nearest storage facility is both far from our house and very expensive. The Trans Am has proven to be reliable and has neverfailed to start. It runs a littlerough until it warms up, ut then drives down the road without any problems and the brakes seem to work fine. The longest drive that we have taken was about an hour in duration and it has never broken down on us. The Trans Am has not used any oil in thetime that we have owned it, ut we have had to add a varied amount of coolant before each drive. It has never overheated and the temperaturegauge always reads within normal range. We have not taken it to a mechanic to have this checked out, o it may be a minor issue, ut there is also a possibility that it could be more serious. No problems were disclosed to us before we purchased the car. The originalair conditioning components are intact, ut the air does not blow cold. The heat works well. The interior is in good condition and shows fading from the sun. There is a crack in the dash pad. The originalradio and the clock still work well, ut the tachometer does not work. There are scratches and chips in the paint, ut it still has a shiny appearance and looks great. We are not aware of any rust on the car. We are listing the car as-is/ where-is, t no reserve and it will sell for the highest bid. The Trans Am is a really great looking car and is definitely not a barn find, ut it should still be considered a project. It is currently registered as an antique vehicle in Pennsylvania and was last driven today. We have a clear Pennsylvania title in hand. Youarewelcome to inspect and drive the Trans Am prior to bidding, r you may have a mechanic check it out at our location prior to bidding. The Trans Am may be picked up in person, r we would be willing to help coordinate pickup with your shipping company. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end and we ask that full payment be made within seven days. Pickup day/ time is flexible and we arewilling to consider holding the car at its present location for up to a month after payment has been received.
