Pontiac GTO 1968 Description

Up for sale is a rare 1968 Pontiac G.T.O 4-Speed Convertible, of 766 made in the year 1968 and also claimed Car of the year for Motor trend Magazine. This car is in the middle of restoration work and has a way to go. The Original Factory Exterior Color is Solar Red (code R 2) and the Convertible top was Black, t came with a Black Interior (code 223). I have the P.H.S documents and also a copy of the Original Window sticker.

This Goat came with options: 4 BBL 400 C.I. HO V-8 (code W S), Speed M-20, afe-T-Track H.D POSI 3:55 gear(code Y.H), M Push button Radio,Rear seat Speaker,Headlamp Covers Retractable(Hidden Headlights), isor Mirror Passenger, utside Drivers Mirror remote, luster & Tachometer(Rally Gauges) Rally II Wheels with Red Line Tires, loor Shift Custom Knob, ide and Handling Package,Floor Mats Front, ir Cleaner Dual Stage HD.
This car is mostly complete with original GM parts! The body is in decent restorable condition! The Front Endura Hideaway Headlight set up is original to the car and in good condition! The front valance panel is GM and nice and solid! Radiator support is in very good and straight condition and was professionally repaired where the frame bushings mount. The two fenders need to be reworked to match the car and will line up. The two doors are in mint condition. The rear Qtr Panels and wheel wells need work as does the rear trunk pan floor. The trunk lid is solid and was a show quality lid with no rust but was damaged and has repair work started but needs finishing. The rear bumper is straight and will need rechroming for show. The Windshield and the Cowl area is in great condition! All glass is there. The Convertible top frame is in good condition and straight and solid! The Pump and Cylinders worked nice when top material was on. The top material is gone and will need a new one. The original Black boot comes with the car. The interior is all there but will need to be redone! It is a Bucket seat car with no floor Console. The Rallly Gauges and Tach and dash is out but complete. The Dash Bezel has been cut. . The front floor pans were cut out and the Passenger side has been welded back in. The drivers is cut out but not welded back in. The rest of the floor inside section is solid and all floor braces are good. The Bucket seat studs need to be replaced due to snapped off when removed. The Frame of the car is in good condition. The Drive Train is all there: The Original WS HO motor was gone when I purchased the car but I had one that I found years prior to out of an Original 1968 Gto 4sp Convertible that was totaled in the rear of the car with low mileage and complete and running! So I opened up that WS motor to inspect its condition. It has been all painted correctly and gaskets replaced and is sitting back in the car paired up with the 4 speed Muncie M 20 and the Nodular HD Rearend 3:55 Posi that will need work also? I have a pair of HO/Ram Air Exhaust Manifolds that are not the Original ones with the Engine. It has all four Rally II rims on the car also not the original code ones. This Goat is a nice investment for the right person who knows its value after all the hard work is done!

It is a great project with a ton of potential!! A real 1968 Pontiac GTO 4 speed Convertible HO Car. I have an Open Mass Title and have a the Bill of sale in my name! I have the P.H.S Documents and Window Sticker so No paperwork issues here! This car will need to be towed and a flatbed is needed! It rolls freely! Motor is not wired up so it cant be started! Please Serious inquires only and realize this is a project car! A major one and not for the weak at heart! I am selling this because I really need the room and it was a partnership car project that was started and all of us Grew apart!
