Pontiac GTO 1969 Description
Thanks for looking at my 69 Goat. It is a REAL 242 car with all the PHS Documents. A California car since new. Purchased from McFadden Pontiac in Los Angeles. Very early production car January 1969. I guess you could call it a survivor or "Barn Find" Not so much a barn find since I have owned it for the last 10 years or so. She has been off the road since the early 80's Of over 58000 GTOs produced in 69, his is 1 of 1986 ( Ram Air III with auto trans) Factory colors are Espresso Brown with Black Cordova top and Gold interior.Numbers matching (born with) motor. YZ block-correct heads, intake, carb and exhaust manifolds. (factory rated @ 366 horsepower) original turbo-hydro transmission with floor mounted shifter (not his and Hers) Original Saf-t-trac rear end with 3:55 gears. The motor does turn freely but have not tried to start it as I would hate to not go through it and wreck the original motor. Here is my best description. The roof needs to be replaced. Even though it is a California car, t sat out for a long time and the Vinyl top had its way with the sheet metal. The structure is fine and all of the headliner bows remain intact. The rear back glass sheet metal is rusted above the trunk. The trunk lid needs repair but is better than almost every one I have seen for sale. It is repairable. The trunk is fine just has some scaling. There is a small common rust hole on the passenger fender. (this is a replacement fender from a red car) Drivers fender is original and rust free but it and the door have fallen victim to a slide hammer and over zealous body man. Will need to be replaced The drivers door needs a new skin but is in otherwise good shape. The quarter panels are rust free but have had previous bodywork . The drivers quarter is the worst as it does have body filler showing. The passenger side is really pretty good shape. Passenger door is fine and dry. Floors are in good shape. While not originally a hood Tach car, t does have the remnants of one and the Ram Air cutouts. It has a bow and some rust bubbles at the lip but could go either way. Save or replace? Endura nose is in very good shape. All of the glass is intact. I am pretty sure it is the original windshield from the date code on the glass! All of the seats are original but the drivers will need some welding at the seat back. Obviously the upholstery is original and will need replaced. Be sure to check out the under dash Sanyo Cassette Player. and it does still have the factory radio. Ram air is still under the dash. I put some 15' rally II wheels on it about a year ago. These are not correct to the car but look ok. Front tires are brand new and rear are fine. One pic shows where I soda blasted a small section of the drivers quarter panel. there is red oxide primer laid over the factory finish. It will be quite easy to strip for paint. Please look closely at the pictures. It is a good car needing somebody to love it again. I have kept it because I drove a 69 Judge in High School. I am eager to sell her but wont give it away. If she dosent sell I will just put back in my shop for the future. Look at the price of restored base cars and this will be as good an investment as you can get.I have a CLEAR California title in my name so there is no funny business. I am not interested in trading. Please, lease have your finances in order prior to bidding. Under 5 feedback please contact me prior to bidding or your bid will be cancelled. I hate to do this but my luck is always somebody whose spouse or significant other wont let him buy it. Feel free to e-mail or call with any questions. Scott909-969-4306. Shipping is at buyers expense. I will sell worldwide. We can help load on to your transport truck. Thanks again for looking!
