Pontiac Trans Am 1975 Description
1975 PONTIAC 4-SPEED TRANS AM HARDTOP COUPEThis car needs fully restored but is 99.99% complete, s a 4-speed car, as matching numbers, nd does not have T-tops. It's a good solid trans am to start with and restore it back to original, r however you want. I have many more pics I can send. Here are all the details. If you want to do something on it, eel free to email. A couple restored trans ams are pictured below also. Thanks.

MECHANICAL
This has the original WT code 400 V8. The engine is original, nd I checked the VIN on the block myself. The WT code is specific to a 4-speed car also. The drivetrain all looks original. I have not checked the numbers on the transmission or rearend, ut the shifter looks original and fits and shifts as it should. The posi rearend has the limited slip tag on it still. These cars came with borg warner t-10 transmissions, hich this looks to have. If your really concerned about that, can try to check it out further. The engine is non-running. It just clicks when you turn it over. This could be the starter/solenoid, he cylinders could need lubed, r the engine is stuck. I've had many cars that have sat for years and then the starter would not turn them due to a little condensation in the cylinders. With some penetrating oil they get turning sometimes and then the starter will turn. I have not tried to turn the engine by hand to see if it's stuck and I'm not going to. I have a sore shoulder that prevents me from wanting to get into it and the car is not in my shop. Just expect that it needs work, nd may need rebuilt. The clutch does not function properly, hich leads me to believe that could have been why it was parked. I just really don't know though. The engine has no obvious holes or cracks or blown out oilpan. It looks original with the exception of an aluminum intake and headers. The shaker assembly is in good shape. Carb looks original but I didn't check the numbers or anything. The transmission shifts into all the gears. The car rolls and steers and the tires hold air.
BODY
The body needs restoration and paint. It has some rust but not too bad. Not like a salty area, ut it has some which I'll detail. The low floorpans need done, r just a whole pan may be easier. The outer rockers have a little rust that can be repaired fairly easy. Inner rockers are fine. Rear quarters have a little rust behind the wheels. A little above the wheels. I think the quarters could be repaired a lot easier than replacing. The patch panels are sold for behind the wheels and the spots over the wheels is so minor that it can be repaired with raw sheetmetal. The wheelhouses each have one small rust spot in the same spot on each side. About 2x3". The trunkpan is solid but has one small spot of rust, lso about 2x3". The passenger door has a little skin rust you can see in the pics. Each front fender has rust in the low part of the rear corners, ou can see in the pics. The car needs some bodywork. The roof, ood, runklid, ams, illars, irewall, ash, ear window/deck, tc. are fine. The floor supports and frame look fine. The the northwest area where I'm at is a no-salt area. The roads are salted a little bit now in the winter, ut were not when this car was on the road. I'm sure it's unlikely either that this car was a winter driver. Doors, ood, nd trunklid open and operate properly. Ignition and trunklid keys included. I did not try the doors but they are usually the same as the trunk. Windows roll down also.
INTERIOR
This has the original white interior but the rear seat is gone, ind of. A speaker thing was built there at some point. I'm not sure if any of the original seat springs still exist under there. Seats are real easy to find and may be reproduced. The interior needs a full upholstery kit. The gauge area is in decent shape and has not been cut for a stereo, hich is a nice bonus.
This car is used, old as-is, nd needs full restoration.
