Pontiac Firebird 1989 Description

Stk. 1979 1989 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird Purpose built over a three year period to participate in Texas Mile style races as well as Power Tours; this Pro-Touring 1989 Pontiac Firebird is one serious fire-breather. Underneath its ominous black Chaser Aerodynamics fiberglass hood and ground effects lies a Shafiroff Racing prepared, steel Dart 406 c.i.d. Little M short-block featuring a Fast E.F.I system with 160 lb injectors and T.P.I.S intake feeding a pair of 210cc aluminum Air Flow Research heads, Arp head bolts, Comp Cams camshaft, roller rockers, and pushrods, along with a balanced rotating system comprised of JE blower type pistons, Oliver billet connecting rods and balanced crankshaft. A Procharger F-1 blower with 12 lbs of boost @ 2500 rpms supplies the adrenaline, while Doug's headers in concert with three-inch axle back pipes and Borla Racing resonators makes the hair on your neck stand up in response to its frenetic symphony. Add to that a two-stage nitrous package and you have the makings of a true road-rocket. A D&D prepared Borg-Warner T-56 six-speed transmission with McLeod clutch delivers all the goods to a Currie 9 Ford rear end with 31 spline axles and 3.89 True Trac gears; which is a good thing, because when on the throttle and the bottle, this Firebird is producing nearly 1000 horsepower! Lamborghini scissor-style doors expose an all-out interior featuring a full roll-cage, stylish red and black Neta`mi racing seats,Willans four-point racing harnesses and a host of Auto-Meter Pro Comp gauges monitoring all vital signs. Underneath are a tour de force of Hotchkis F-body suspension components including; Red front tubular control arms and a Red rear suspension kit, sway bars, and performance springs. An AJE Racing K member and Spohn Performance adjustable torque arm along with Afco adjustable shocks help to offer ultimate ground control to it's stylish 18 Billet Specialties wheels wrapped with stickyYokohama Advan Sport ZR rubber. This menacing F-body is track or street-ready to roll. OPEN TO TRADES. Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website at www.autobarnclassiccars.com for more information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD AS IS
