Pontiac Le Mans 1968 Description
Up for sale is my 1968 Lemans. This is a no reserve auction, however the car is listed locally so I have the right to pull the auction if the car does sell in the next few days.I purchased this car hoping to keep it forever but decided to move onto something new. This car has extremely little rust and is overall very solid. All floor pans/frame are hole and rust free due to the previous owner always keeping it in a garage. The body is all solid and there is no rust or rot on any of the quarters, fenders, etc. which is a very difficult thing to find in a 50 year old car. The trunk is solid with some minor rust here and there.
All the hard work on this car has been done. It has a rebuilt 350 engine done recently by the previous owner with the 4 barrel Edelbrock intake manifold and carb, new alternator, battery, fuel pump, and much more. Clean low miles TH350 Transmission installed two months ago. The car runs and drives very strong and starts up everytime. This is a perfect daily driver or can be improved to be a show car.
Interior is completely new. Seats have all been reupholstered, dash recovered, new carpet, new steering wheel, and a BM ratchet shifter is in place of the standard center console. Also installed is a factory GTO working hood tach. Exhaust is two Thrush mufflers with turndowns before the rear axle which are loud but sound great.
Has a new single stage matte gunmetal paintjob with metallic flake. No clear has been sprayed over it because I liked the look matte. If someone wants to then they can have a clear coat sprayed directly over this single stage paint for a deep gloss look. Paint is in pretty good shape overall and looks nice.
New brakes and Brand new raised white letter tires with less than 30 miles on them. The 1968 is an extremely hard to find and desirable year. With a little work this can be converted into a solid GTO clone.
Title is clear and clean showing 178k, however as with many old cars and rebuilds this usually is just for registration purposes. The previous owner passed away but took great care of this car and drove it often. Please message for any other questions. I can provide videos of the car running and driving if requested. Thanks!!
