Pontiac Firebird 1967 Description
1967 Pontiac Firebird restoration project for sale. This is a base-optioned Firebird. Engine is factory-original WC-code 326 2-bbl. Transmission is factory-original 3-spd Saginaw manual. Steering and brakes are non-powered and the car is not equipped with air conditioning. Interior is Parchment color with black carpet. Wheels are Pontiac Rally I's (installed by previous owner, I have the factory original hubcaps). The car is about 1/3 through a full restoration. The engine was rebuilt in 1997 and the engine bay semi-restored at that time (unfortunately the engine was painted red). The engine and drivetrain run very well and are strong.
Over the last 2 years the car has received new rear quarter panels (full panel on passenger side, skin on driver side). It also got new lower trunk filler panels, rear wheelhouses, and deck filler panel (below rear window) and sub-structure underneath. All structures underneath and around the new panels received a fresh coat of epoxy primer while disassembled. Nothing has yet been done to the underside of the car.
Remaining body rust includes:
1) Rocker panels each have one area to be patched (I have full replacement rockers which can be used for this).
2) Front fenders each have rust behind front wheel opening (I have full replacement fenders for this).
3) Lower trunk floor has pinholes which can be welded up.
As mentioned I have full replacement fenders, rocker panels, and a passenger door skin (original has some dents on body line...your choice to fix or replace). All replacement sheet metal was sourced from Classic Industries.
The interior is completely disassembled from the car. I have all interior pieces and fasteners individually bagged and labeled. I also have photo records of the disassembly to aid putting it all back together again. The seats, door panels, and headliner all should be replaced as the discoloring is severe enough to warrant replacement. All seat structures are in excellent shape. I have all the glass for the car except the windshield which cracked upon removal.
I have all original emblems, chrome, etc as well.
I am looking for someone to take this project over as my interests have changed. I have owned this car since 2010 and started the restoration in 2013. It has approximately 96000 miles showing on the odometer, and the KS title is clean and lien-free. This makes a solid foundation for a car which will surely continue to appreciate in value. I do not need help selling this car nor interested in trades. Located in Independence, KS. $500 deposit due at time of purchase. Please contact me if interested in seeing this car in person.
