This is the one you've been waiting for. Stand out among all the boring Mustangs and Camaros with this custom, one of a kind, GTO convertible. This car gets so much attention everywhere it goes! People love the custom look of the carbon fiber dash, Grant steering wheel, and digital gauges. A lot of work has gone into making this car handle and feel like a newer car. Tubular A arms top and bottom, all new bushings, new shocks front and back, and new racing (2" drop) springs/coils front and back make this thing handle like a race car in the turns. The big 400 motor has been freshly rebuilt with a cam, new push rods, aluminum edlebrock torker intake, the ever popular Rochester Quadrajet carb jetted and tuned for the cam, HEI distributor, and many other upgrades to make it run very very strong. It sounds amazing as is, but when you push the button on the remote and open the exhaust the rumbling sound is incredible. It is definitely Fast and Loud. It's cool to draw a crowd with the open exhaust, but very nice to be able to push the button and make it pretty quiet when you just want to hear the wind with the top down and cruising. You truly get the best of both worlds with this car. The big motor produces plenty of horsepower to burn the tires and have fun, but the 4 speed transmission and low gear ratio allows it to cruise down the highway at 85mph effortlessly at low rpm, and about 20mpg! You get the classic muscle car look and sound, with the modern comforts of digital gauges, 10 speaker stereo with JL amp and subs, comfortable brand new seats etc. Hopefully the pictures and video tell you everything you need to know, but feel free to ask any questions. Cars always look better in pictures so please come see it in person. Be prepared to fall in love because it's a very unique car that is an absolute joy to drive. This is a great car that is ready for you to just get in and drive. It starts every time. It runs smooth and strong. All the lights and turn signals work. The right turn signal indicator on the dash doesn't flash, but the actual turn signals work fine. It steers and handles much much better than the average classic car. It has a lot of custom touches that make it one of a kind. I think I have just about all of the original equipment that came off. I will include a pic to show what I have. I had the convertible top guys install the new weather stripping when they put the new top on. I still have all the other weather stripping in the box from soft seal because I thought the new owner may want to repaint the car and would have to remove it all anyway. The car looks great now and gets tons of compliments, but if you want it to be a show car you'll want to give it a fresh new paint job. Or you can just enjoy it as is and get many years of worry free fun out of it. This car could easily be a daily driver without doing anything to it. Take long trips 80+mph down the highway smooth as glass. A real turn key classic car. I have sold several classic cars on ebay with excellent feedback so bid with confidence. The car isn't perfect, of course, but it's got nothing to hide. The underneath is super solid with virtually no rust. As always, I strongly recommend coming to see the car in person. This is not a trailer queen or museum piece. It is meant to be driven and enjoyed. I don't put a reserve because I'm not looking to get rich, and my cars always sell at a fair price. A couple of my car auctions have been won by dealers or "flippers" who resold them later for much more, and I'm OK with that. I just love these old cars, love restoring them, and hope to see them go to a good home and be enjoyed. I will assist with shipping however I can. I will deliver the car to a shipping company or airport within 50 miles. I will pick you up at the airport, or meet you there so you can fly in and drive it home. I'm confident this car will drive back to California without issue if that's what you want to do. Thanks for looking, and good luck!
This car was born a Lemans, not a 242 VIN GTO. Cars always look better in pictures so please come see it in person before bidding. The paint looks good from 10 ft away, but there are several chips and scratches etc as it has been driven regularly. It is not a trailer queen or show car, but it's beautiful and gets tons of attention everywhere it goes. One area behind the front left wheel appears to have been repaired in the past and shows signs of bondo and faded paint. The speedometer sending unit hasn't worked since day one, although the gauge itself works. The numbers on the oil gauge sometimes don't display the center line. It did start to overheat once when I was stuck in traffic on a hot day, so it may need a bigger radiator or better fans depending where you live. I mostly drive it when the weather is nice and it's fine. The dash pad is cracked. Windows could use alignment to seal perfectly. I am listing this car for a friend so questions and emails will be sent to him. This is a great car with a lot of potential. The only thing left to do is paint and body work, and I think you'll have a show car. Or just drive it as is and enjoy it.
