Pontiac Firebird 1980 Description

Hello everyone, up for auction is my 1980 Pontiac Firebird Yellowbird Project. I work as a teacher and coach, and so I began this project last summer, but have not had the time to dedicate to it I would like. I have some other projects I’ve been working on this summer, and in addition to that much of the work to be done is beyond my capability . This is one of the special edition models that Pontiac did in the late 70's early 80's along with the Skybird and Redbird. That being said the car itself is completely solid. It's a rust free car that spent most of its life in arid west Texas. It has a 3.8L V6 which could be yanked to put in a 350 or warmed over. Available for optional purchase does NOT come with the car will be a new edelbrock intake, camshaft, and valve covers for the 3.8L. Part of why this could be a great restomod is that the car will come with a brand new Tanks, Inc fuel injected gas tank kit ($450) with a new AC delco fuel cap. The fuel pump and fuel sending unit are already assembled and installed in the tank. The car has a new interior - other new parts that have been recently installed: new camel tan carpet, carpet underlay, seat belts, front kick panels, sail panels, headliner, dome light assembly, seat belt roof covers, headliner Y trim, package tray, rear interior panels, seat cushions front and rear, correct deluxe seat cover interior front and rear, bucket seat covers with chrome piping, aftermarket stereo CD MP3 USB connection, speakers front and rear, LED lights in the dash, headlight switch and knob, cigarette lighter, center dash vent, weatherstripping doors and trunk, rear shocks, dash decal and dash emblem, pull strap bezels, sunvisors, A/C actuator and cover, inner and outter door handles, door sill plates, door panels, water shields (that go behind door panels), window felts/sweeps inner and outter, door lock knobs, window cranks, door handle escutcheons, center console, center console box compartment, correct gold turned shifter bezel and plate, delay wiper motor with new elctronics. There’s probably more stuff I’m missing, but the whole interior is new. The door hinges on the driver side door have also been replaced, but need to be adjusted slightly to make the correct gapping. Parts that would come with the car that have not been installed and are also brand new: headlight bezels, correct special edition arrowhead emblem for the front bumper, side trim, wheel well moldings, windshield and rear window moldings, wheel center caps, lug nuts, iridium spark plugs, wires, hood latch, radiator hoses, aluminum radiator, front shock, hood heat shield, door hinges for the passenger side (door doesn’t seem to need them, but I figured to do both), front brake rotors, brake booster, rear defroster kit, front grills, new water pump and new wiper blades. All that being said the car does need work. The nice thing is that it is a rust free car. It didn't run I believe because of all the gunk I found in the old gas tank had clogged up the carburetor. I was told the AC worked when it was parked. It does have AC, power brakes, and power steering and the desirable snowflake wheels that are color coded to the car. The windshield has a crack and will need to be replaced. The water lines are jumped so I’m assuming it also needs a new heater core. I would also go through the rear brakes since it’s been sitting. It also came with cruise control, tilt wheel and the delay wipers. The parts that I am selling with the car will help you finish the project. The gray spots in the exterior are where I fixed some dents that were in the car in preparation for someone to paint it. Please ask any questions you have before bidding. This is a great start to a neat project for someone who is looking for one. The odometer says 80,590 miles and supposedly they are original. Buyer is fully responsible for shipping the car. It does not run so it is considered non-operational. Buyer needs to pay a non-refundable $500 payment within 48 hours. The remainder of the balance is due within 7 days, so please don’t bid if you can’t pay.

Also available for extra purchase and DO NOT come with the car a brand new set of rear window louvres, an aftermarket electronic Dakota Digital cruise control unit, and aftermarket Quick Fuel Technology QFI fuel injection kit with fuel pressure regulator, fuel injection filter and PTFE fuel lines, Edelbrock 4bbl intake, camshaft and lifters, valve covers, and new Trans am fender flares for the front and rear to complete that restomod look.
