1969 Pontiac GTO Numbers Matching Factory Original Completely Rebuilt Gran Turismo Option 400 Cubic Inch Engine selling at "No Reserve"

The inventors of the Goat designed these cars with manual steering to handle the brute force under the hood of these vicious muscle cars. Most of the GTO fanatics know that 1969 and 1970 were the pinnacle of the Pontiac muscle car era. They simple don't make cars as extraordinary as these specimens anymore.

This is a very rare highly documented one owner car. This sweet 1969 Pontiac GTO was purchased brand spanking new by a woman on February 12th 1969 from the West Side Garage Pontiac dealership located at 270 Broadway street in Berlin, Wisconsin after trading in her 1963 Ford Fairlane.

Never did she believe at that time that she would own this GTO for all of these years, but she loved this Pontiac that much. It was a very traumatic situation for her to part with her special car, but her family convinced her it was time to let go. Remember, they only have one original owner one time!! According to the woman who owned this GTO all this time it has spent its entire existence in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Included with this sale will be all of the original dealer invoices, a pristine 1969 owners manual, and documents to prove this car is a genuine one owner documented real GTO owned by the same woman throughout her name being changed after she was married. That is why the title I received has a different last name on it as compared to the original dealer invoice.

As I pulled away with her GTO on my trailer from the house where I made the purchase the whole family was out in the driveway waving good bye, and the original owner had tears in her eyes. I took a color copy of the previous title to verify the story behind this incredible Pontiac. The prior title was given up at the Department of Motor Vehicles when this goat was placed into my name. I'm selling this GTO with an open, clean, and clear title in my name issued in the State of Wisconsin.

This is the first time this awesome Pontiac has ever been offered to the public on eBay. I will explain everything I found out from the previous owner at the point of purchase.

This GTO was in very good condition and was all numbers matching from top to bottom when I was fortunate enough to come across it. The paint was faded so since it needed to be freshened up I decided to apply the notorious Carousel Red color and add the infamous "The Judge" striping kit that was made to the exact Judge dimensions from Phoenix Graphics.

This is an original Black Cordova vinyl top factory ordered optioned car. Since the vinyl top showed some minor wear I had a brand new exact material match Black Cordova top installed after the ground up restoration. The paint work was done less than a year ago in the autumn season of 2015. A full gallon of PPG Carousel Red paint was applied followed byfour coats of the most expensive Dupont clear coat I could find on the market. The body was then wet sanded at three different levels - 1000 grit, then 1500 grit, followed by 2000 grit before it was buffed to bring out the glossy mirror shine as evident in the pictures. I've been told by everyone who sees this car that the paint work on this Goat looks spectacular. There will be endless compliments coming to whoever is the lucky winner of this rare classic Goat.

While the paintwork was being done I had the entire numbers matching 400 GTO engine rebuilt and added all of the Judge options. The brand new hood tachometer looks great when it lights up at night. The Judge glove box emblem is brand new, and all of the GTO emblems on the grill, both fenders, trunk, and even the rear quarter panel GTO marker lights are both brand new. I wanted this GTO to present itself as stellar as possible.

The prior owner told me that this car had never been in any accidents and I believe her. I scrutinized this entire car and saw no signs of it ever being hit, and believe all of the body panels to be original to this car. Although the odometer has slightly rolled over I tried to make the original GTO 400 cubic inch engine in this Goat as close to the way it rolled out of the factory on to the showroom floor.

The engine rebuild includes a brand new water pump, new alternator, new distributor cap, new rotor, new spark plugs, and new wires. The quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor has been rebuilt to match the sweetness of what was done to the original GTO 400 numbers matching engine. Since this engine had never been removed during its entire existence I felt it was the most opportune time to install brand new motor mounts and brand new transmission mounts for the original Turbo-Hydromatic 400. This fresh rebuild also includes competition valves springs 995-16 with a competition cam shaft kit with new lifters CL51-224-2, and a competition cam grind #XE274H-10. This Competition cam is very similar to a Ram-Air IV cam. There is a new Hastings ring set, new sealed power timing set, new Melling oil pump, and new Clevite bearings. My engine rebuilder cleaned the original crank shaft, rods, and pistons for originality since this car was never raced and in very good condition.The heads have been gone through and the valves have been lapped.

Needless to say with the fresh rebuild this GTO starts right up and runs incredible. This GTO is factory manually steered and handles great. It can be easily converted to power steering, but I wanted to keep it the way it was ordered when it was brand new in 1969. The front disc brakes have new brake pads, so this Goat stops well.

After the numbers matching 400 GTO engine was re-installed I had a complete set of new dual exhaust installed with an X-pipe and new Dual Flowmasters with the correct chrome Judge exhaust tips. Needless to say this incredible Judge lookalike sounds wicked to say the least.

While the engine was being rebuilt I removed all of the chrome to prepare the body for the restoration and paint work. I had all of the stainless steel professionally high speed polished. The rear tail light bezels are original cast iron not the plastic re-manufactured replacements that these cars are typically restored with. The rear bumper is brand new with triple plated chrome. All of the rubber gaskets were replaced around the doors along with the rubber gaskets around the top of the car. Even the window felts were replaced, and the trunk gasket seal as well. Every body panel on this car is original with the exception of the rear quarters which were replaced with lower half quarters. That quarter panel work was professionally done, so it is not visible to the naked eye. I'm just a very honest person and wanted that to be known. The lower quarter panels really did not need to be replaced, but I wanted to lessen the use of body filler, so the chance of anything popping would be eliminated. This expensive paint job should stay very nice for many years to come.

All of the panel fit and body preparation was done by the local Pontiac GTO guru in the area. Both doors open and close like when this car was brand new in 1969 with brand new chrome door handles, and even the door warning buzzer still works.

The endura nose has a very nice fit because it is original to the car with the awesome hideaway headlight option that has great vacuum. The hideaway doors line up and open and close like they should. I feel the hideaway headlight option is one of the highlights on the 68-69 GTO's. Not many of these cars were factory ordered with the hideaway headlight option.

This 400 engine was completely detailed with the correct Pontiac blue and all brand new belts and hoses were installed. I also replaced all of the correct decals under the hood, in the door jambs, and under the trunk lid.

The complete interior was restored with a new dash pad, and brand new black carpet that sports a new set of four black carpeted floor mats. These original bucket seats were professionally reupholstered and came with the deluxe seat belt option. That is why the front bucket seat pictures show a pair of females on each bucket seat. I suppose the Widetrack of Pontiac designers of the GTO back then felt that the front bucket seat driver and passenger both needed to be double belted in with all the power these GTO's were rated at. All of the original factory seat belts are still in place. The original AM/FM was replaced with an AM radio at some point. The dash wood grain was replaced with brand new wood grain, but the AM radio is currently not hooked up. I left the stereo decision up to the new owner. I am assuming they will most likely want to switch back to an AM/FM like what appears on the original purchase order. There are several aftermarket suppliers that make an identical AM/FM stereo with all updated components for a much higher quality sound.

The Pontiac rally wheels were professionally sand blasted and refinished with the correct colors and then clear coated. This Goat rides on a full set of four B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A raised white lettered tires on the complete set of four matching original super rare JA code 14" inch Pontiac rally wheels with four brand new PMD center caps and a full set of 20 new chrome lug nuts.

The floors and frame are all in very good condition. The trunk floor is also in nice original condition and was coated with AC Delco black and aqua spatter spray to make it appear factory correct. The original jack, jack stand and crow bar were nicely detailed and sit on a new trunk mat. The original rubber sleeve still fits nicely on the jack to hold the crow bar in place. The trunk also carries a full size Pontiac rally wheel with a B.F. Goodrich raised white lettered spare tire. That way if there is a mishap on the road this goat can be back cruising in a matter of minutes looking complete. This genuine Pontiac GTO has the original Posi-Traction rear-end that came with this car from the factory.
