Pontiac Grand Prix 1985 Description
Nice winter project !!! I bought this car about 3 years ago not running and installed a distributor in it to get it going . It ran but not very good . The engine sounded good with no unusual noises and the transmission shifted like it was supposed to. A mechanic told me to install new plugs and wires so I purchased them but never installed .Instead I parked it and lost interest . It was running when parked and air conditioning was blowing cold . However it has been sitting for close to 3 years and it has only been started occasionally . I have had to start to move it and It will barely stay running unless you keep your foot on gas. I dont know if it needs carb work or if it's plugs and wires. This car is 31 years old and appears to be mostly original so it has some wear and tear . I have noticed oil spots under it so at the very least I would plan on an oil pan gasket. There is also a few rust spots as seen in pics and I would assume there's more you don't see, I haven't looked that close . Although I think it has a pretty solid body for its age. All the glass is good but previous owner had driver door panel off and window switch apart . Im assuming there is a problem but I never tried to fix . I think the interior is in good shape but does have wear and staining .The spare tire is on it now but I do have the original rim for it. Tire had slow leak and went down from sitting so long and I didn't have air compressor so I mounted the spare. The other 3 tires hold air and have tread but will need to be replaced soon . At this moment the exterior is very dirty because I haven't washed in 2 years. It will look much better after you wash. I replaced the battery about 3 years ago but it could need replacing, It has sat through a couple of cold winters. I think with a little work this would make someone a great classic car. It has a straight body and not an excessive amount of rust, mostly what you see is on the surface. These g body coupes have started to climb in value and will only get higher. I bought this car with the intention of keeping it for a few more years but I am moving into a neighborhood with association rules and I can't park in driveway if it doesn't run nor do I have the garage space. I want to be very clear with the condition of this car and have described as accurately as I can. If you need more details before bidding please as, don't assume. The time to ask is before the auction ends, not after. The car has an Indiana title and will be signed by seller. The license plate will be removed. You are responsible for all transfer and title fees in your state. Buyer will need to bring trailer to transport. I am selling car with no reserve so high bidder will own it. Please don't bid if you don't plan on following through with transaction . The car is being sold as is with no warranty . A $400.00 deposit is required through PayPal within 24 hours of auction ending . Balance is due in cash at pick up or within 7 days. I can work with buyer a little on pick up time but I am moving so it would need to be picked up no later than 14 days, but must be paid for within 7 days. The deposit must be within 24 hour, there are no exceptions to that. Title will not be delivered until paid in full .
