Pontiac GTO 1969 Description

Up for bid in this auction is a metallic silver 1969 Pontiac GTO with blue interior that has 136,790 miles on it.

I am listing this car for my friend Bob. Bob purchased this GTO from a friend to help his friend with his financial situation. Since Bob bought this GTO it has always been garage kept. Bob has put a few miles on it every now and then just to keep the fluids through the various systems and components.

Please Note - I have never driven or even ridden in this GTO. Bob says it runs strong and handles great. Bob has an outstanding reputation throughout this region and I certainly do not doubt his word on anything.

Final Note - As I said, Bob is a good friend of mine. However, as you can see I have been buying and selling on EBay since 2003 with over 1,000 positive feedbacks. I have never received a neutral or negative feedback from anyone because I am always totally honest about the description of any item I have ever sold. I am very proud of my record and that will continue through this auction and beyond. Good or bad I will tell you only what I know to be fact or truth!

That said, here we go!

Bob and I are both in our sixties. I personally have owned seven GTOs. I have owned two ‘69’s, one ‘68, two ‘67’s, one ‘66 and one ‘65. So I know a little about these cars.

This GTO is road ready as it now sits. It is not presently in “top-of-the-line show quality” that you would expect to pay $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 for. However, for the money that this will sell for I do not believe you will find a 1969 GTO in any better condition than this one.

BOB HAS SET THE RESERVE PRICE FOR THIS GTO AT WHAT I BELIEVE IS AN EXTREMELY LOW PRICE AND VERY REASONABLE PRICE SO SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A GREAT DEAL ON WHAT IS BECOMING A HARDER TO FIND RARE CAR.

Bob had this car sitting in his garage one day when I stopped by for a visit. I asked him what he was going to do with a car like that. I ask him if he was having some kind of mid life crisis. He laughed and explained that he only bought the car to help a friend of his at a time of need. He said he really had no plans to do anything with it. Bob does not do anything with EBay. I convinced him to let me list it for him so it could go to someone who can truly enjoy it.

As it sits this car may not be a high end show car but I can tell you this….It is a head turner and when you rumble it into a parking lot on Friday or Saturday night with its big cam 400 talking people will definitely take notice. It sounds awesome!

When I arrived to take pictures of this GTO Bob just backed it out of his garage and I started shooting. We did not do any prep work cleanup, pressure washing, painting or other things like some folks try to do to make it look better or hide blemishes. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!

SOME ISSUES I NOTICED - I was behind Bob when he backed the GTO out of his garage and I noticed the reverse lights did not come on when he put it into reverse and I noticed the passenger side mirror was missing. As I was taking the pictures I noticed the passenger side rear window crank was missing. I noticed that with the headlights off the hide away headlights did not close. As anyone knows who has ever had a GTO with hideaway headlights this is most likely a vacuum issue.

What I know about the car is as follows:

This GTO received an enhanced replacement motor a little while back. Bob says he does not know when it was replaced or the mileage. The engine that is now in it is a built up Big Block 400. It obviously has a bigger cam than stock. I noticed the engine has headers and a MSD Electronic Ignition System. I am sure it has more but I am not sure what, and Bob said he did not know either.

This GTO is equipped with the factory optional competition Hurst Dual Gate “His-n-Hers” Shifter

This was a really cool factory option on the GTOs starting in 1967…..go to this site for more information.

http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.com/2015/03/hot-options-hurst-dual-gate-his-n-her.html

This GTO is equipped front and rear with really nice Weld Racing wheels. As you can see in the photos, they are deep-dish in the rear and standard-set in the front. The wheels are all wrapped with like new B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A tires. The rear tires are P275/50R15 and the fronts are P215/70R15

For its age and miles this GTO appears to have a low amount of rust underneath the body and undercarriage for what I could see without crawling up under it

The interior of this GTO is in really nice condition for a car that is almost 50 years old and a 100,000 plus miles. The seats and carpet are in great shape. The side and interior door panels are really nice also.

You can see in some of the photos that there have been several modifications added to this GTO like a Sport-Comp Auto Meter Monster Tachometer and a set of gauges.

This GTO has an in dash AM & FM radio with cassette player.

You may notice that there is a knob located under the steering column that says Boost Retard. This controls the MSD 6462 BTM on the firewall under the hood. I DO NOT have any experience with this unit and I don’t know anything about it or if it works and neither does my friend Bob. Here is a link you can go to for more information.

The color of this GTO is now a metallic silver. (it has been repainted)

I have tried to describe this GTO that my friend has in a totally honest and straightforward manner. You now know just about everything I do about this car.

This car is located in Lunenburg VA. Everyone who would like to come by and inspect this GTO is more than welcome to do so. Just let us know through EBay and we will arrange for a date and time for you to see it. If you want to see it then please wait until you see it BEFORE you bid.

Please be sure this GTO is the right car for you before you bid. As always we would rather not have any bids then to have someone buy something from us that they are not truly happy with. I am not making a dime off of this one way or another. I am just trying to help two people. The first of course is my friend Bob and the second is the lucky person who buys this sweet ride!

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED……….COME BY AND TAKE A LOOK!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Hopefully you can tell by our E-Bay feedback that we do not make claims or representations that are not 100% accurate. We have always made it a point to understate the condition of any item that we have sold so that when the winning bidder gets the item from us then they are always happy. I have not and, even for a good friend like Bob, would not misrepresent any item we have on E-bay to anyone. We treat everyone with the same honesty and respect that we hope for and expect in return.
