You are bidding on RARE, Top-of-the-Line, Pontiac Bonneville convertible. This beauty is in mostly-ORIGINAL beautiful condition! This Pontiac was purchased by the current owner in 1999 from Jacksonville, FL and was restored during the following year to its present condition. This beauty has roughly 8,000 miles on it since it was restored. It is numbers-matching (389ci and rare 4-speed automatic), with all the original body panels it was born with. The drivetrain was completely rebuilt and so was the gorgeous red bucket-seat interior. The body is very straight; paint has awesome depth and the chrome moldings just gleam. This Bonneville runs and drives and EVERYTHING WORKS on the car. Options include… power steering, power brakes, power top, 8-lug wheels and modern stereo with CD changer. This is one Pontiac that gives you that ultimate luxury experience. The owner is selling it due to health issues that have prevented him from driving and enjoying it for the past few years.
This is a rare classic car with a reserve to protect some of its value. If the reserve is not met we will work with the high bidder to complete the sale. Bid retractions are not accepted. Retracting your bid for an incorrect amount without entering a corrected amount is a clear attempt to reveal the Reserve as well as a violation of eBay policy. We block bidders who violate this policy and report the violation to eBay.
The Body is straight with a close-to-show quality paint job. The body was completely stripped and the non-original black enamel paint was laid down. The paint has that deep wet look with no swirl marks or scratches. It was just professionally detailed the beginning of this April. The car had been sitting for the last 5 years in a garage so it needed some detailing. The only repair to the body was to a partial section of the trunk floor. Most of the moldings and chrome are the original pieces it was born with and were restored. The rear bumper is original and unrestored. The body is super straight and solid but is not perfect. After 17 years, there are some minor issues. The hood has a crack in the paint in the very center, there are a couple of rust bubbles starting at the bottom of the drivers-side quarter front, a couple of areas of the paint where there are some blemishes and some of the moldings have minor dents from the grandkids bumping into them while parked for the last 5 years. All-in-all it presents itself very well! The glass is in great condition with no cracks or delamination. The weatherstrippings are in like-new condition still. The newer convertible top is in great shape; it still looks new! No rips or tears and is still bright white. The top works great and fast! Plastic window is like-new. There is a white boot for it that goes with the car. The exterior could use a bit more detailing to bring out all the beauty in this classic convertible.
The Interior is in great “LIKE NEW†condition! The gorgeous red interior was completely restored and still looks brand new with no rips or tears. Dash, dash pad, and carpet are in great shape. Dash is in good condition with all components working including the “COLD†indicator in the dash when you first start it. All the lights, directionals, speedo, gauges, wipers, blower and horn work. All the windows do operate as do the doors, trunk, and hood. The steering wheel is in great condition! Has a new matching digital radio with a 251-watt amp, 5-disc CD changer in the trunk, 4 working speakers and cell-charging plug in the ashtray. Original radio goes with the car. Center console is not original to the car.
The Drivetrain is all original and rebuilt. The 389ci 4-barrel (303 hp) V8 runs great, idles and drives without issues and makes no noises or smoke. No leaks. Has plenty of power and will light the tires if so desired. The GM 4-speed ROTO-Hydra-Matic automatic transmission shifts and operates as it should. Power brakes and steering both work fine but the front right brake needs some attention since it is dragging. The single master cylinder was upgraded to a dual system. Owner did keep all the original brake parts and they will go with the car. The carb is not original and was replaced with an Edelbrock carb. Battery is new. Generator has been replaced with an alternator. Ammeter has been replaced with a voltmeter.
The Undercarriageis in beautiful condition! Solid frame and floors with a very clean and restored factory “Like New†look. 8-lug rims are in great shape. The Coker whitewall tires are in good shape with lots of tread. Has a matching spare with an 8-lug adapter.
The dual exhaust with Smitty glass packs is in great shape. The jack is in the trunk. Not sure if all the pieces are there.
Other info: The car is in pretty much original condition. It’s in super condition but is an older restoration so it’s not perfect. A little attention could make it close to LIKE-NEW again.
The car had not run or moved in 5+ years. A new battery was installed and fluids checked and she fired up on the first try. I did drive it around and it still drives really nice. I recommend fluid changes and checking the brakes before driving it. It could be driven to its new home but I highly recommend the servicing work first. There is no passenger-side mirror on the car but there is one in a box that will go with the car. The driver-side mirror is loose and needs to be tightened.
Car comes with 1 set of factory keys and clear Ohio title stating 20,552 miles EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS. The odometer on the car shows 28,830 miles and it is working and it has not been replaced.
Fender skirts are factory-style but not original.
I realize that it is difficult to purchase a vehicle you may not be able to inspect in person. I build vehicles too – so I try to show you everything I would want to see if I was buying a vehicle for myself. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my vehicles accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy buyers worldwide so you can be confident when making a purchase.
I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my expertise as a vehicle builder, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. Please ask questions before bidding! This is being solid AS IS with no warranty or guarantees and is up to the buyer to verify any and all info listed above in the description! This vehicle is also for sale locally. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle. Again, this is a classic vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It’s not perfect or a museum piece so there may be minor imperfections in the body, brite work and glass. Anything to note is listed above.
