Pontiac Firebird 1969 Description
1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 Originally a California Car I bought it in 2008 and spent a couple years restoring it. It is all original sheet metal. all numbers matching. The list of things replaced. rebuilt and refurbished is extensive. Work done. new parts. repairs. etc - -Engine and transmission completely rebuilt. carburetor rebuilt. new water pump. valve covers. air cleaner top. rebuilt starter and alternator. new u-joints. new aluminum radiator. Mark IV electric fan with two speed controller. -Brakes. front calipers/pads. rear drums/shoes. new wheel cylinders. new booster and Master. new proportioning valve - AC/Heater completely gone thru. rebuilt compressor. new accumulator. new hoses. new expansion valve. new blower. new heater core. New heater temperature control cable. - Suspension - all new ball joints. front bushings. tie rod ends. variable quick ratio power steering box rebuilt. All new shocks. Upgraded front sway bar and added an Addco rear sway bar. - New BF Goodrich Tires on restored factory RalleyII wheels. new wheel caps. new trim rings. - Body - Body shop made the panels razor straight and it was repainted as shown with base and clear coat. New sill plates. new rocker covers. new headlight and parking light trim. new bumpers front and rear. new lower air baffle. new door handles. new outside mirrors. new hood hinges. new underhood mat. - Interior - repainted all metal surfaces. nearly the entire interior is new. new upholstery. seat foam. carpet. pillar covers. AC vents. new rearview mirror. nbsp;. padding dash top. dash panel. door panels. window weather strips and roof rail weatherstrip. new window and door handles. nbsp;rear package shelf. headliner. original seat belts replaced with modern lap/shoulder belts. new glove box insert. steering column rebuilt. All window mechanisms redone with new glides. etc. New shift cable for console shifter. The console is an original and the burlwood on it is like new. The dash is new afermarket with an aftermarket burlwood overlay. - Electrical - Engine compartment. front lights and interiour dash wiring harness and fuse block were all replaced with new. The only old harness that was reused was the body harness that runs from the dash back to the rear of the car and the taillamp harness. The stoplamps and rear turn signal lamps were replace with a sequential flashing LED system. The starter and alternator were rebuilt. new AC/Heater fan. Alarm with remote entry plus it broadcast to the key fobs if the alarm is set off. Highlights of interior - I put a recreation of the rare factory option of triple gauges and interior tachometer in it when I redid the dash so it has a real oil pressure. fuel level. and water temperature gauge stacked where a clock (or blank plate) would otherwise go. In one of the two Circular interment pods there is a tachometer instead of the factory idiot lights and gas gauge. You can see this in the photos. - Radio - the original factory AM radio was redone with new guts so it is now an FM stereo (has AM too but it works poorly). also has an auxiliary input for MP3 that is wired to the center console cubby where I have an little mp3 player that plugs into the cord. Dual rear package shelf speakers and dual speakers in place of the original dash speaker. Power Antenna. - Taillights - Has sequential LED taillights from https://digi-tails. com/1969-pontiac-firebird-led-tail-light-panels Things that are wrong with this car: - Turn signal won't cancel on right turns - High beam indicator light burned out - AC Dash switch for turning compressor on and off doesn't always work so I added another switch under the dash to control the compressor circut. - Paint (white part) got some discoloration from road tar or something when it was newly painted. most people never notice. You can see it in one of the photos. eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
