Pontiac Other 1957 Description

This is a running driving project car that I have lost interest in. I put in a rebuilt 1967 Pontiac 400 cu in motor and a TH400 3 speed auto transmission. The motor has 067 heads and Summit Racing camshaft, eaders and carburetor on an Edelbrock aluminum intake. It has an aluminum radiator and stainless overflow tank, ooled by a Be Cool electric fan. It has brand new dualexhaust with Magna Flow mufflers, hat was professional installed ($650). It has brand new tires and wheels 18" rear and 17" front. Has stock rear leafs with air shocks and stock front coils with one coil cut off for lower stance. Has manual steering. Has power brakes with dual master cylinder and Wilwood proportioning valve. Right now it has drums front and rear. Plan was to add front discs but actually stops fine the way it is. Custom driveline balanced with new u-joints.

Body is overall pretty good and straight. It has some rust in rockers and pin holes in floors and rear of the trunk where it meets the back panel of taillights. My plan was just to clean it up and shoot a satin finish. If you wanted to go all the way and repaint gloss it will need some rust repair some body repair parts are the same as the tri-5 chevy. Chrome and stainless is all there but would require restoring if you want it to be perfect.Glass is all there but has blemishes and the wing window is cracked. Once again if you just want to cruise around in a traditional hotrod / rat rod it is just fine but if wanted a show car you'd need to replace it. Chevy glass will work and is available cheaply.

The car runs and drives fine. It has decent power, ear end gearing is tall but the motor has a ton of torque and pulls great. Whenever I drive it I get lots of thumbs ups and questions when I stop. Most non-car guys think its a Chevy at first then comment that body style is better than the Chevy because it's different or unique. Currently registered with California black license plates.

Interior is decent. Seats need to be recovered but they don't have any major holes in them. Headliner is good and dome light works. Dash lights work. Speedo and fuel gauge do not work. The three moon gauges do. A new wiring harness was used (EZ Wire). Front windows roll up and down. Rear windows need help going up. Weather stripping needs replacement. Has new carpet and trunk mat. Bottoms of door panels are bad. Has a Genie tall shifter and old school steering wheel.

If you'd like to see it I'm near Sacramento. I can store it for few extra weeks if necessary. No reserve hopefully it sells and someone else can have some fun with it!

There is a short video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0f-_aOEUT0gof the car running.

I forgot to list that it does not have a heater. Pontiac has a weird under the front driver seat heater. I removed the unit and covered the hole with aluminum plate. I planned on using an aftermarket unit but never got to it. NO HEAT NO AIR.
