Pontiac Trans Am 1981 Description

Have you ever felt like you owned a car that may be too nice? That’s how I feel about my 1981 NASCAR Trans Am.

I purchased this car a couple of years ago from a private collector. I fell for the overall originality, he low miles, nd that it presented very well. The interior of the car, or example, ives a like-new impression, s well as that of the trunk. Certain items under the hood retain their original-plating look. It has brand new BFG’s–I mean less-than-100-miles new and handles great.

To be critical, he car may have a light scratch here and there. I noticed a very small spot at the corner of the deck lid where it looks like paint may have worn.

The car fires right up and after warm up, t runs pretty well. It may need a slight tune as it has been sitting in my climate controlled garage most of this year, hich brings me to why I’m selling it. I really have not had much time to enjoy this car. It’s just my opinion, ut this car is nice and original enough that it should be in a facility where it can be well cared for or in a museum and not in my garage where I have to worry about my kids damaging it with a bicycle.

The car has been undercoated, o it has no rust issues. Everything seems to work on it, ith the exception of the AC not blowing cold air, ut it does function. Some of the plastic and decals have barely started to yellow which I guess is normal to these original TA’s. On the Turbo hood scoop light indicator area (black inset panel on the hood scoop) there is a small crack, ut it’s hardly noticeable.

Mechanically, t is perfectly sound with the exception of an occasional small rattle or chatter that I think is coming from the rear disc brank pads. Secondly there is an occasional rattle that will come from under the car and may be part of the exhaust vibrating.

So here is your chance to own a very rare – (I think they made only 2000 of these) extremely low mile NASCAR edition Turbo Trans Am.

I encourage you to ask questions before bidding and you are welcome to set up an appointment to view the car if you like.

Pictures do not do it justice.
