Pontiac Le Mans 1968 Description
For sale is a 1968 Pontiac Lemans Convertible in great shape. This car has been stripped of its inline 6 cylinder and in its place sits an all aluminum LS1 engine and 4L60E automatic transmission. This car is set up for supreme handling anddrive-ability. Following are the changes made to the car:Motor: LS1 all aluminum block and heads. Installed a GM Hot Cam part #12480110 along with new valve springs and timing chain. The car uses a factory ECM along with aPainless LS1 Wiring Harness Part#PRF-60506. The motor is held in place with BRP motor mounts. Edelbrock shorty headers were also installed. The car dynoed 345 H.P at the rear wheels.
Transmission: Factory 4L60E transmission controlled by the factory ECM through the Painless wiring harness. Factory torque converter was replaced with aTCI Streetfighter Converter Part#242931. Transmission is held in place with a cross member from BRP.
Fuel system: In tank fuel pump with a corvette fuel filter with return. AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator with gauge is under the hood.
Computer: Factory ECM tuned by Rapid Motorsports, Birdsboro PA.
Brakes: Front and rear disc brake conversions with drilled and slotted rotors. Calipers painted red to match the car.
Exhaust: Custom mandrel bent 3 inch aluminized withMagnaflo MAG12229 mufflers, 4 inch tips. Excellent exhaust note.
Suspension: UMI Performance ABF808 Stage 4 handling Kit including front and rear Viking coil over dual adjustable shocks,Tubular front upper and lower control arms,Front and rear sway bars,Rear upper and lower control arms,Tubular frame braces, and1 inch drop rear spring set. This setup makes the car handle like it is on rails.
Rear end: Detroit True-trac limited slip 3.50 gears in factory 10 bolt rear housing.
Interior: Auto Meter Phantom Gauge set, Summit racing seats in the front with factory rear seat, three point retractable racing harness in both front seats, Pioneer head unit, Custom aluminum gauge bezel, finished off with a Grant steering wheel.
Wheels and tires: Front - Foose Nitrous 18x8.5 Nitto NT555 255/45/18 andRear - Foose Nitrous 18x10 Nitto NT555 285/40/18.
All in all, this car handles like a new one, it is loud and fast, and garners much attention when driven. The front and rear bumpers could use rechroming and there are a few paint chips here and there, but the car is a real eye catcher in spite of that. If you have any questions you can call me at 717-363-0629. Payment needs to be $500 at close of auction with the remainder made within 7 days with cash or bank check. Car must be picked up within 14 days of the close of the auction. I can help with the loading of it, but will not arrange shipping. The car can be driven anywhere, so feel free to come pick the car up and drive it home as well. I took this car on Hot Rod's Power Tour in 2014, going the entire way and put a little over 4,000 miles on it. I would drive it across the U.S. in a heartbeat. I have a clear title in hand.
