Pontiac Firebird 1983 Description
I have had this car for a little over a year and is by far the nicest car I ever owned. The paint is original paint which will obviously have some small blemishes but is amazing for how clean and old it is. The floorboards and the entire underneath is spotless I'm thinking this car was in a heated garage for a good majority of its lifetime and for the winter I had it in a heated garage. It has street legal slicks on the back end right now they are still fairly new and makes it impossible to spin the tires. I have the original eagle gt tires that came with the car back in 83 and are still on the front which should be replaced. I had it down at the local dragstrip 2 times to run time trials and best time I got was 13.9 for 1/4 mile. The car has Forged Flat top pistons which means the carneeds to be heated up first for the pistons to fill the bore, I usually pull out of the driveway right before the thermostat opens. If your not familiar with Forged pistons this can be a small annoyance. The motor and trans were put in at 40,900 miles they both have close to 6000 miles since build. This car has NO COMPUTER which means no codes, no engine clutter, no smog equipment whatsoever. the check engine light is permanently on but it means nothing without the computer. Also the Blower Motor has been removed the AC/Heat/Defrost are non-existent. The radio works all good but the speakers are blown out, you can get the volume just right so it doesn't make horrible noise but I usually keep it off. The trunk does not like to open which is pretty normal for these car it will but I don't mess with it anymore. For oil I use 10w40 Edelbrock Full Synthetic zinc enhanced formula oil and use a little edelbrock's zinc additive ever 500 miles or so. The coolant is Be Cool's Super Coolant which is a blue color instead of the standard green. Never had a problem with the flip lights, windows or wipers. The wiper motor was replaced right when I got the car. Can see the weather stripping missing on driver door I have it and will install it before it is bought. For gas I use 91 Ethanol free gas mixed with 1-2 gallons of cam2. you don't have to use ethanol free but I recommend it for this old of a motor. As for the cam2 I highly recommend as you will get valve clatter without it. I usually put 15$ of cam2 in with 20$ of ethanol free when I fill up and no valve clatter.1972 Hi Nickel SBC 400 Bored .30 over to 406 -Forged flat top Pistons W/ Clevite 77 Main & Rods - ARP Rod bolts-SFI rated Flex plate-Brass Freeze Plugs-485 Lift Cam W/ 224 duration at 50 degrees-1972 400 Heads 72 cc W/ new valve guides & seals-3 Angle valve job & valve springs-HYD Lifters-Edelbrock Intake-750 Quadrojet carb-Aluminum Valve covers-HEI Distributor W/ Reverse kit-MSD 8.5 Wires-Hooker Headers-Massive Super Comp Exhaust

Small con list-small rip in drivers seat but nothing like you would see in similar ones. -the front fender is cracked good (in picture) it was like this when I bought it I should've done something about it but I just didn't.-The Radiator in the car is the Original that went with the 305 motor. it stays cool in weather up to 80 degrees and will always be cool while in motion but if you get caught at multiple lights on a really hot day the car will keep getting hotter until you move again -Should get a set of tires, the slicks are like new but you don't want to drive on them all the time and the Original tires are beat-Dashboard has a good crack and 2 small holes I have a cover for it.
