Serial # R5755Mileage: 73,219289 V-8 (240 HP)/ 4 Barrel Carburetor/ 3 speed Power-shift Automatic Transmission
Three owner car.Last good inspection sticker reads 2002 at which mileage was recorded as 72,557; only approx 700 miles were added and then car was put into storage.
We did put in new battery, lectric fuel pump, nd some new cables;we then drained old gas and she started right up!
Engine sounds strong, ransmission shifts well into all gears.
Gas tank was dirty and should be cleaned.
Does have a few stress cracks, ee photos.
Chrome shows just the right amount ofpatina!
Car appears to be 100% original.
This is more desirable, ater model with the square glass headlight enclosures;there were not many of these models produced.

OriginallydesignedbyRaymond Loewy, he Studebaker Avanti featured a radical fiberglass body design mounted on a modified Studebaker Lark chassis andmodifiedengine. Safety features included an overhead, inyl-covered roll-bar, oor reinforcements, nd door locks designed with a stainless steel pin and lock system to achieve a positive lock. The suspension had front and rear sway bars. The Avanti set 20 speed records, ncluding the 4-speed transmission record of 172 mph and the automatic transmission speed record of 168 mph. Not only did this car preform well, ts was also built for comfort. It is loaded with options that make this classic such a pleasure to drive- power steering, ower windows, isc brakes, actory Air Conditioning, wo speed electric wipers and much more.
The 1964 Avanti included these changes:Headlamp bezels changed from round to square (including some 1963 models). Solid-color interiors standard. Carpet option black only. Fender plate changed to "Super-charged Avanti" instead of "Supercharged."
