HISTORY:
This vehicle was purchased new by my Father at the Studebaker garage in Bloomsburg, a. in 1956. The vehicle has been in our family ever since. I have a copy of the original production order for this vehicle.
This vehicle is as close to complete and original as you will find. The body paint is original. All gauges, peedometer, lock, nd radio are original. All four wheel rims are original to the vehicle and are painted to match the vehicle, lso the wire wheels covers are all complete and are mounted on the vehicle. The original jack, ase, nd lug wrench are in the trunk.
The mileage is 62,947.
My Father was an auto mechanic who owned the Sunoco garage in my hometown and he did all maintenance to the vehicle. Dad put the vehicle into storage in 1968. The license plate and the inspection sticker from 1968 are still on the vehicle. At that time, he vehicle ran well and everything was in working order. It stayed in storage until 2000 when my Mother passed and I moved it to a garage near my home. It stayed there until 2007 when the property was sold and I then moved it to my home where I parked and covered it.
I was able to start the vehicle and it ran well with the exception of one of the lifters tapping. All the electrical worked. All lights exterior and interior worked including all the gauges. The brakes need to be rebuilt so I was unable to drive the vehicle, ut I shifted the transmission through the different gears and I could feel it shifting. I continued to start the vehicle periodically for a time. I then covered it and it's been that way to the present time.
The vehicle serial number is registered with the 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk Owners Register.
You will not find another vehicle like this one. It is perfect to restore to a daily driver, r do a complete restoration and turn it into a trophy winning machine.
