Studebaker Avanti R-2 1963 Description

Thank you for viewing this listing. For sale: 1963 Studebaker Avanti, -2 motor, speed, 7K original miles. I purchased this Avanti from the second owner in 1997. The car was originally sold in the US and was then shipped to Ontario, anada. I purchased it from Robert Shapton who owned a Studebaker dealership in Ontario in the 1960's. I then had it shipped back to the US. This car has always been garaged. I have stored it in a dark garage since I purchased it. I have only driven this car several hundred miles since 1997.

This car included many NOS and used spare parts. Please see the photos showing the spare parts. Most of theNOS parts are in originalStudebaker packaging.

About 20 miles ago, he heads wererebuild and the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets replaced. Other than that, he motor is original and complete(no missing shrouds or chrome pieces). The engine runs well, o smoke at all. The supercharger operates properly. The battery was just replaced with an original type 3EE Battery. The carjust had an oil change, S fluid change, nd brake fluid change. The rest of the fluids should be changed by new owner. The exhaust system is in good shape. Transmission/clutch operates perfectly.Since the car has not been driven much lately, he new owner will want to look things overcarefully before going on any long trips (hoses, luids, tc...). Overall, he car is completely original mechanically and in nice shape.

The body of the car is excellent, ith noaccidents ever. There are no cracks in the fiberglass. The car was expertly repainted in 1971, nd still looks really nice. There are two scratches in the paint (shown in photos), ne on the drivers fender by hood and the other behind passengers door near emblem. When I got my garage painted, he painter was cleaning out his spray gun and got a little watered down latex paint overspray on the car. I haven't cleaned it off completely, ut it buffs off easily. The car has not been waxed since 1997, o it is due. When car was repainted, t was original gold color. The chrome and emblems are excellent overall. There is some pitting on antennae bezel, couple of light scratches on front bumper, nd a few pits on the side bumper piece on the front.

The interior is completely original, xcept the carpets. It showsminor wear, ut overall is nice. Headliner is perfect. Door panels are excellent condition. Rear seats are excellent. Front seats have no tears, ut do have one or two spots where seams have loosened up a little. The dash board has a discolored area on the top by the windshield(no cracks)(seephotos) and has a couple small hairline cracks in the area around the ignition switch. The felt lining the glove box is in ok condition. The interior is 100% complete, inus a couple small trim screws around the rocker panels.

The tires are high-end Goodyear tires with about 100 miles on them. The rims are in good shape, nd the hubcaps are original. The hubcaps are not perfect, ut look good (a few scratches and paint chips).

The frame and hog troughs have minimal rust. The previous owner told me the car was undercoated at the dealership, hich is why it is so rust free (see photos). Also, t has been garaged its whole life and not driven in poor weather.

The car runs and drives well, ut it hasn't had a lot of use lately. The new owner will want to look everything over, efore any long trips. Please contact me with any questions. If you want to speak on the phone, ontact me via Ebay, nd I will send you my number. I should add, his is the first time I have sold a car on Ebay, o please excuse my ignorance or lack of protocol. Overall, his is a really nice original Avanti R-2, hat needs just a little work to make it perfect.

-Lots of NOS and rare parts
