Willys CJ-3B 1954 Description

OK, ith great remorse and soon to be regret, 'm selling my beloved Willys. You see, t seems when your wife and kids are bothering you for one of those fancy new side by side little off road things, o tool around the farm on, nd they say things like "Gator" and "Rhino" and "Mule" all you think is "We don't need any more stinkin' animals around here!" Well.... what you didn't realize is that even though _YOU_ might think a 54 Willys is so much more fun to use as a farm "tote the cooler to the fire pit" getabout, hat they are thinking is "Why did he buy that thing? I'll never drive it." So, nyways, s much as I think this is a great vehicle for us, 'm outnumbered and undoubtedly outsmarted.
So Willys needs to go so we can make room for some loathsome Japaneese plasticky piece of garbage that no one will want in 20 years. This Willys - everyone will want it in 20 years, ven more than they do now. This will do better than your lousy 401k. A 20 year old Kawasaki Mule.....???
OK, nways, his Willys is fairly original, reshly rebuilt engine that runs like a top. 4WD and hi/lo transfer case work great. Drives down the road about as well as any stock 1954 Willys I'd imagine - which is to say you don't want to go very fast as the steering is known for excessive play. I'm told this can be fixed but as I don't drive it on the road I never bothered. Anyways, t runs and drives very well. About 38,000 miles which I believe may be original but I don't know. The title says it exceeds mechanical limits which may or may not be true (having driven this on the road, seriously doubt it has 138k...).
The body is all original as far as I know. Some rust here and there but really not bad. Worst rust is the tailgate and the hood in my opinion. Neither are bad enough to need replaced (in my opinion). Hood does have some dents from I believe where it hit the windshield with a ham-fisted person opening it or something. Again - not terrible. About 2 years ago I had a buddy paint over the original blue paint with flat black epoxy primer to give it extra rust -resistance and to give it a cool (in my opinion) look. I like the "rat rod" look and this Willys went that direction. Did the red seat covers and red wheels, hen Frankie went a little crazy with the red, itting the dash and some other parts. I like it. The underside is still blue.
So here's a list of all the new parts I've bought for it in the past 2 years, hich is well under 100 miles. Like I said, just putz around my small property with it.
New within last 100 miles:
Solex carb
electronic ignition
electric fuel pump
plugs/wires
12V Chevy "1 wire" alternator
aluminum radiator
correct Firestone tires and tubes (gotta love em)
all brake lines, heel cylinders, aster cylinder
steering wheel
gauges (except speedo)
rear view mirror (cheap Chineese junk already cracked)
oil pump
seat covers and foam
grill felt-type trim (the stuff the hood sits down on)
battery
emergency brake cable
choke knob/cable
light switch
ignition switch
gas tank and fuel level sender (plastic repro of stock so it won't rust)
I'm sure there's more but the rest escapes me.
This thing runs great, s great fun to plonk around off road with, nd a conversation piece that always stops people in their tracks. I do have a clear Ohio street legal title for it. Its not perfect - look at the pictures closely. It has homebrew wiring (lights do work!). I have the speedometer cable unhooked right now because while the speedo does work, ts really noisy and annoying. I've put less than 50 miles on it since disconnecting it. The speedo is original and I didn't want to replace it but have been too lazy to pull it and try to fix it. And I'm sure some other things that you might wonder "What was he thinking here?" The sort-of-OOOOGA horn does work! No it does not have Bluetooth or an iPhone connector.
Located in beautiful Sardinia Ohio (zip 45171), hich is about 45 minutes east of Cincinnati. I could potentially help transport this but I'm not excited about it. Definitely ask me first before figuring I'll do much more than be home when I get here and offer you a beer and watch you load Willys up. I can hold it as long as you need me to - as long as you pay me. I'll accept any kind of payment as long as it clears the bank before Willys leaves. I do want a $500 PayPal deposit though so I know you're serious, nless you come get it within 48 hours.
Definitely welcome potential buyers to come see/drive Willys before buying. I want you to know what you're getting.
Good luck and have fun!
